I’m happy to pay £££

I like fresh citrusy smells as well as musky woody smells.

I don’t want something overpowering but I want something that will last a bit.

Not hugely keen on jo malone Lbm / PN as I’ve found they don’t last so long.

Detest Chanel no 5 as it smells old fashioned and talcy on me. Ditto Avon soft musk which I’ve just bought on the back of a thread here recently.

DH really likes me wearing Lovely by Sarah Jessica Parker but it’s cheap as chips and i fancy a change.

What would you suggest ?

L'interdit by givenchy is gorgeous - it's quite musky but with jasmine notes - it lasts ages.
For a citrusy one I'd try l'occitane verbena.
Oh and if you don't mind spending a bit more, Tom fords black orchid and black cherry are amazing and last and last.

I just received Paco Rabanne Olympea at Xmas and it's really lovely.

salcombebabe · 12/01/2022 18:34

If you like citrusy scents then try O de Lancôme! It really is the most beautiful fresh citrusy scent, I’ve worn it for years.

Jo Malone has lovely citrus scents

SummaLuvin · 12/01/2022 18:54

Lancome - La Nuit Tresor - sultry, sweet, floral
Diptyque - Eau Duelle - warm, spicy, vanilla
Jo Malone - Mimosa and Cardamom - fresh, light, floral
Jo Loves - Green Orange and Coriander - zingy, fresh

Narciso rodrigez for her

EatSleepRantRepeat · 12/01/2022 18:55

Floral Street - Van Gogh Sunflowers. Really nice and citrusy, and my fragrances from this brand have great longevity.

EatSleepRantRepeat · 12/01/2022 18:57

If you like both woody and citrusy, have you tried Molecule 01+Mandarin? It's woodsy from the Isp Super E and the citrus is true citrus, smells slightly pithy and not at all sweet like most others.

Atelier Cologne do lovely citrus too but they don't last more than a couple of hours on me.

Antsgomarching · 12/01/2022 18:58

I like narciso rodriguez musc noir, its really sweet at first but dries down to a slightly soapy clean smell but soft.

4160tuesdays lemon sherbert or fluffy lemon top for grown up Woody citrus

helenabonhamfarter · 12/01/2022 19:01

I have the same taste as you in perfume.
Try L'Occitane Herbae

LeQuern · 12/01/2022 19:02

Try the new Chanel Le Lion De Chanel.

Top notes are amber and woody with a middle note of citrus.

It’s beautiful. Seriously. But very expensive.

Teadrinker11 · 12/01/2022 19:03

If you like citrus then Acqua di Parma is well worth a look. For something woody musky you may like Byredo Gypsy Water. I can't speak for the actual perfume but I have the body wash which I love.

Portrait of a lady by Frederick malle

1frenchfoodie · 12/01/2022 19:13

Sugi by Comme des Garcons x Moncle is a great warm andwoody yet fresh lemony cypress scent (well it smells of sugi wood apparently but I’ve never smelt that). Longevity is not great on me though.

Katshouldnotswim · 12/01/2022 19:32

Some fabulous suggestions - thank you so much !

I’ve made a little list and I’m going to pop into town tomorrow for a sniff around. I will let you know !

Bright Crystal Versace.

Teaseall · 12/01/2022 19:48

If you (and your DH) like Lovely then I would definitely recommend Narciso Rodriguez For Her, the EDT rather than the perfume though.

My favourite scent and I always get complimentary comments when wearing it.

troppibambini6 · 12/01/2022 19:51

Someone gave me Malin and Goetz tobacco for my birthday and I've so many people ask me what it is. Two of my friends have since bought it, it's lovely.

troppibambini6 · 12/01/2022 19:51

It woody and musky not fresh or citrusy.

girlabouthome · 12/01/2022 19:57

Baccarat Rouge if you are willing to pay!

Blossomandbee · 12/01/2022 22:16

I like Paco Rabanne Lady Million and Good Girl by Carolina Herrera. Both on the more heavier musky side rather than light and citrus but both really nice and long lasting.

There are websites that tell you ‘if you like this perfume then you will also like..’ it’s difficult to go by what other people recommend.
