I’m happy to pay £££

I like fresh citrusy smells as well as musky woody smells.

I don’t want something overpowering but I want something that will last a bit.

Not hugely keen on jo malone Lbm / PN as I’ve found they don’t last so long.

Detest Chanel no 5 as it smells old fashioned and talcy on me. Ditto Avon soft musk which I’ve just bought on the back of a thread here recently.

DH really likes me wearing Lovely by Sarah Jessica Parker but it’s cheap as chips and i fancy a change.

What would you suggest ?

QUERCUS
A cologne of some sophistication, named for the iconic English oak. Basil and lemon as fresh as a mountain stream, sweet jasmine, and a woody, mossy depth that brings one happily back to earth.

After the Rain - Lime, Rose & Sandalwood
Inspired by the scent of a summer garden on Arran after a rain shower. Experience our best-selling signature scent with notes of Lime, Rose and Sandalwood.

Libre by YSL is lovely and fresh but with deeper notes

DedalusBloom · 14/01/2022 18:20

Quercus is indeed lovely. However it doesn't last very long ( on me: sample of one)

So I went into boots and they had interdit on offer with a mascara and lipstick and I had enough boots points to buy it outright. So there we have it.

I then had a test of narco rordriguez which smelt delightful so that might be my next purchase.

So many recommendations to keep me busy. Thank you all

I love L'interdit so good choice op. I bought Lancome Idole and Im not sure about it.

BeefSupreme · 15/01/2022 15:33

Good choice, L’interdit is my current favourite. Have you tried it out yet?

finished31 · 15/01/2022 15:37

Mr favourite and only perfume I will wear is Mademoiselle by Coco Channel I'm funny with smells.

However, I also have my own bottle of Armani Code for men which I do prefer wearing.

Couperi · 15/01/2022 15:43

Initio Absolute Aphrodisiac
Le Labo Another 13
Chanel Coromondel

There's a few sites you can order samples of to see what you like.

AuntieMarys · 15/01/2022 15:47

I love molecule 1 and got molecule 3 recently. Love it.
Byredo Bibliotech is a favourite ...smells of leather

@MintyGreenDream

Portrait of a lady by Frederick malle
This! It’s awesome. Pricy but worth it.
Bebethany · 16/01/2022 17:48

Katshouldnotswim Try Chanel 19 or Cristalle

DilemmaDelilah · 16/01/2022 18:23

As @Huelva94 suggests, O de Lancome is a lovely citrus fragrance. Similar, but more intricate and more expensive smelling (and costing) is Diorella (by Dior, not surprisingly). That is my perfume of choice for the summer. It is a gorgeous mix of citrus and lily of the valley fragrances, to my nose. For winter I like something deeper, warmer and more spicy and I like Mitsouko by Guerlain. Both of these are long lasting on my skin and give me a lot of pleasure to wear.

ParkheadParadise · 16/01/2022 18:30

Coco Mademoiselle
Flowerbomb
Stella
Jimmy Choo
Perfume is a personal choice.

Shaz3004 · 16/01/2022 18:47

You have got to try More is More by Judith Lieberman. It is a fragrance that has three chambers so you can have 7 fragrances in one bottle! The individual fragrances are amazing and mixing the. With the unique bottle is a life changer. Check it out

I love Blood Orange by Shay&Blue. For woody/musky I’d recommend Liz Earle No 15

Shortkiwi · 16/01/2022 20:22

I love
Chanel Chance
Chanel Coco mademoiselle
Jo Malone Grapefruit
Jo Malone Orange Blossom
Clarins eau des jardins
Neom Grapefruit lemon and rosemary
L’Occitane Verbena sorbet

beneaththeradar · 16/01/2022 20:23

Chanel No 5, but L'eau (not the traditional one - it's very different)

Chanel Mademoiselle

Chanel Gabrielle

I am very boring about the merits of Chanel.

BlancheB · 16/01/2022 20:38

Intuition by Estée Lauder will suit you if SJP Lovely does Smile

Fluffmum · 16/01/2022 20:44

Touch by Burberry

honeyfox · 16/01/2022 20:47

Maison Martin Margiela Beach Walk is gorgeous ☺️

Omicrone · 16/01/2022 22:28

Diptyque L'Ombre Dans L'Eau. The first notes are very green, almost tomato plant like, and then it just becomes lovely and Berry/rose like, its lush! If you have ever smelt their Baies candle it's basically the perfume version of that.

Itsonlymeeee · 17/01/2022 00:11

Libre by YSL is really nice. I sent of for a sample & everytime I wore it my dh kept asking what I was wearing as I smelt so nice. He obviously loved it as bought me a bottle for Christmas!

pandora206 · 17/01/2022 00:29

Chanel Crystalle has top notes of lemon and base notes of moss. I haven't worn it for ages but your post reminded me of how much I used to like it. I've googled and it is still around.

mathanxiety · 17/01/2022 02:56

I got Paris: She Met Him in Secret by Anthropologie for Christmas.
The notes are Violet, Dark Iris, and Sueded Leather.

I love everything by Clarins.
