@Shannith loving your 80s look. That coat is amazing .Really like your long skirt too.I love your £1/£2 secondhand bargains. Our local charity shops are SO expensive.

Softpebbles · 12/02/2022 08:27

@EllaPaella you are right about denim shirts. I’m yet to find a forever one. I have a Barbour one which is too fitted and gapes over my boobs and a ‘chambray’ one which is longer and looser and I wish I’d put on under my hoody today.

Great outfits @Shannith

Not feeling it today. Insomnia is kicking my ass. We are on our way up north to see family. Comfort for the car and then I have a nice blousey top and chunky cardi to put on with my ‘leather’ mint velvet leggings.

We have a sitter at 8.45 and I didn’t sleep until 3.30 ish so that’s a sh*t idea! Plan was to go to closest town that has a Costa and a Waitrose that I haven’t been to since 2017! Very exciting seeing food on shelves rather than online!
Dressed for warmth will add bobble hat and gloves oh and mask!
Jumper: knitted by me
Tee under: Boden
Jeans: Levi
Boots: Boden

Hi @EllaPaella 👋

Not sure if you remember me from the Hush thread many moons ago??

Hope you don't mind me asking, but roughly what do you weigh? As iI recall we were the same height (5ft 7), however I piled on the weight over the last couple of years and am now trying to undo the damage!

I think we were roughly the same, so would be useful to know.

Glad you are feeling better.. I am day 6 of Covid today and still feeling pretty washed out. My 11 year okd son has it too.. he's been quite poorly Sad

Maybe I'll join this thread when I have managed to sort myself out a bit.. 3/4 of my wardrobe doesn't fit me anymore! Determined to put my poor MH behind me and get back to where I was!

You all look fab btw ladies.. I do lurk on this thread from time to time. Smile

KiteflyingKitty · 12/02/2022 09:18

Hi @DavetheCat2001
I’m also that height (5”7) and I’ve also piled on the weight - I had a baby then lockdown!! I know I probably still look “slim” by a lot of people’s standards, but I used to be 9 stone and a size 6/8 and now I’m 12 stone and a size 10-12 (but more like a 12) so I’m very conscious of it.

I do exercise and I have muscles, especially my legs as I’m a cyclist. And I have boobs. So I guess that adds to the weight, or so I tell myself Grin

DavetheCat2001 · 12/02/2022 09:34

Thanks for the reply @KiteflyingKitty

I was 9st 7lb a couple of years ago, size 8-10 and as a result mist of my wardrobe is smallish.

On new years day this year, I weighed in at 11st 11lbs Confused, and busting out of size 12!

I was drinking far too much, eating crap and not caring about myself at all Sad. Mental health ( which I have struggled with for years) was in the toilet.

Kicked booze at the beginning of the year, Dy Jan initially but haven't actually wanted to drink since. Seeing where that goes as fully not saying never again, but need to be able to moderate and nit fall into a bottle of wine when life gets tricky.

Started running again, fitness was on the up, then caught fecking covid, which I'd managed miraculously as I work in a primary school and am surrounded by bloody covid! My DD had it, luckily was asymptomatic, and then I tested positive last weekend.

It's floored me a bit, although not as bad as some I know. But obviously can't get out yet ( still + on day 6), and trying really hard to keep eating well.

Anyway.. sorry for the essay! Totally lost my mojo as far as clothes go, but hoping a fresh outlook and being able to fit back into my old clothes will keep me on track!

EllaPaella · 12/02/2022 10:36

Hi @DavetheCat2001 of course I remember you, nice to see you're still around and welcome back. I am 5'7 and I weigh 64kg so I think about 10 stone? I've been pretty much that weight since my 3rd child was born 7 years ago. I am a size 10 fairly consistently on my bottom half and a 10-12 on top.

EllaPaella · 12/02/2022 10:39

And sorry to hear you had covid too. I am day 12 now and finally starting to feel much more 'normal' again. Hope you are better soon x

KiteflyingKitty · 12/02/2022 11:21

@DavetheCat2001 I can totally relate - got off to a strong start exercise wise in 2022 then Covid hit the household & I was soon back on the sofa with chocolate Blush

My vice is food not alcohol . I need to hold myself accountable as I am the only person who can make the change.

The reason I like this thread is it encourages me to actually get dressed and not just slob about in joggers feeling awful about myself

Hey Style and Beauty,

Can I join! Always lurk and nosy on these threads to get inspiration.

Trying to lose a bit of weight and feel good again after DD. Want to get back to a 10/12 which would be about 11stone for me (5ft4, 12stone currently 12/14)

Also, advice welcome, brown or black boots?

Info on outfit:
H&M for both the skirt and cardigan - I love it as it has really sparkly diamantés on it that are press stud not sewn so don't come off in the wash 🙌🏽

Me today! Can you smell the glamour?!

In my pj's, cleaning kids bedrooms so this is as good as it gets today!

Thanks @EllaPaella .. I think 10 stone would be a sensible weight for me, so just over a stone to lose!

@EllaPaella went to Waitrose and spent over £200. Slightly shocked but do have lots of nice food treats for us all. Also had a chai latte at Costa which I haven't had since addenbrookes hospital in 2018. So that's all good. Glad you are feeling better.
@Sickoffamilydrama trousers no 2 for sure, this style suits yiu so well
Can't remember who but keep the denim shirt!

OublietteBravo · 12/02/2022 12:30

I feel like I’m getting behind on the thread again, so I’m simply going to say that you’re all looking fabulous (as always).

I don’t seem to have worn this jumper dress much this winter. I’m not sure why.

Jumper dress: Jigsaw
Leggings: Primark
Boots: Celtic & Co

KiteflyingKitty · 12/02/2022 12:47

Re-wearing clothes from past couple of days that have another wear in them before the wash.

Jumper Winser London (charity shop)
Skirt Me+Em (charity shop)
Belt charity shop
High tops Diesel via TK Maxx

How to I avoid getting this bulge when I tuck jumper in to this kind of skirt?? Any clever ideas?

Welcome @GalactatingGoddess - you have a lovely figure. I like the black boots best 👌
@KiteflyingKitty I usually just tuck a tiny bit up and under if that makes sense?
@Sooverthemill glad you had a good time and impossible not to spend a fortune in Waitrose!

@KiteflyingKitty regarding the jumper bulge I think you have to pull a little bit more of it up and then under like @EllaPaella says. Lovely belt!
