Today’s outfit is slightly outside my comfort zone. I’ve had the skirt for a couple of months and not worn it properly before today.

Jacket: Hobbs (via eBay)
Jumper: Nobody’s Child
Skirt: Whistles (also via eBay)
Boots: Doc Martens

And finally, I have to confess to breaking my no spending attempt. I ordered this dress from The Fold (it was in the sake). And I love it - definitely a keeper!

@EllaPaella I have also been impressed with M&S for jeans recently - the proper denim ones rather than the stretchy sort. I live in these M&S mom jeans so I’d be interested to try the balloon ones

@Shannith I’m very jealous of your charity shops as although ours have some brilliant stock they do charge quite a lot, definitely no £1 rail here! I need to visit you and come shopping!

Does anyone else watch the Trinny videos on YouTube? I’ve been watching them a lot and really like some of her advice. I also like the fact she focuses on colour & shape & what suits her rather than just slavishly following fashion. Obviously a lot of her outfits just wouldn’t suit my lifestyle (doubt she spends much time in muddy playgrounds or has to walk two miles up a massive hill pushing a buggy ) but a lot of her tips make real sense, especially as I’m also quite long in the body compared to the legs like she is.

However since watching her videos I am now gutted about a wool gilet I sold in Vinted because I didn’t know how to style it as now I do

What does everyone think of this Me & Em top it's a little short I think when I move it will ride up but then I usually wear a vest under long sleeved tops in the winter anyway.

I'm not sure if the riding up will annoy me to much.

@Sickoffamilydrama if your gut feeling is something will ride up / annoy you it needs to be returned, sorry

@bendmeoverbackwards the silver hi tops were a TK Maxx bargain years ago but have been a great buy - they go with virtually everything, don’t get dirty like white shoes but are a lot less harsh than black.
I have another pair of Paul Green hi tops in dark silver & black and a pair of Ash hi tops in grey and they have all proved to be really useful buys and I live in them. (expensive brands I know but I got them both second hand in excellent condition)

I love that top @Sickoffamilydrama and the cut is lovely on you. But yes riding up potential needs to be factored in, if it's going to annoy you will you get much wear out it?

@Sickoffamilydrama - if you unit certain about the top, then send it back. It’s a good shape on you, but it does look to be annoyingly short.

I’m completing a week of skirts today. Trying a combination of colours that I’d not usually put together. I’m not entirely convinced it works as an outfit, but if I don’t experiment I won’t learn!

Bit disappointed by the trousers tbh - they’ve been through the wash and tumble dryer a few times now and have gotten about 2 inches shorter!

@CaterpillaNavilla I wonder if we have the same M&S trousers? These are mine, the wide leg jersey ones? I have washed mine and they seem fine. I did a very cool wash and laid them flat to dry on the radiator and they don't seem to have shrunk or lost shape.
I am feeling so much better today. All aches and pains have gone, still coughing loads and chest is tight but I had a bath this morning and have pottered about most of the day and feel ok.
Count down to freedom day now..

@EllaPaella they sound like the same ones. I haven’t looked after mine it quite the same way though - perhaps that’s why they have shrunk!
