I haven’t posted in a while - it got too depressing posting endless pics of post-op joggers and after Christmas I just got busy and forgot

I’ve been watching Sex Education and Maeve’s outfits are so similar to what I used to wear as a teen - I’ve been re-living my Maeve-inspired teenage style lately (although I’m not sure I’m pulling it off in quite the same way 20 years later )

I've had a bit of a revelation today inspired by another thread I've been looking at Kibbe body types which is never really heard of before and I think they may be onto something! I couldn't work out why this skirt just wasn't feeling right I'd put it on and think it's nice but something isn't right. It's cause it's to full for my body shape/lines. I now need to work out if I can turn it into a pencil/straight skirt, I tried it out using and elastic band.

I’m looking crumpled which is how I feel. I’ve realised all my white shirts are linen. I may ask for a with nothing underneath white shirt for my birthday.
Anyway, we are going out this afternoon for a walk as it’s our anniversary and I’ve booked a sitter! So the tank will be replaced by my big navy grey jumper and a puffer coat and my grenson boots. Yay, the outside world apparently exists. Can’t remember when I last left the house tbh

I tried this first with old skinny jeans. What do you think? Should I keep or sell ( black skinny jeans seem like a basic). That’s pic 2 I hope but the Sézane ones ( which are identical to 501s) felt better today . This week is a tough week but the week after I am culling jeans big time

@Sickoffamilydrama I love your two pictures of the skirt in two different ways, it’s a good way of seeing different looks isn’t it and what works better.

@Sooverthemill I like those skinny jeans on you, especially with the loafers.

Jeans are so tricky at the minute, lots of people are saying that skinnies have had their day but they suit me better than looser jeans. I don’t want to get rid of mine but at the same time want to look more contemporary too.

@WestrayWife and @MargotLB I love both your blouses.

@OublietteBravo fab boiler suit. I love that look but never found one that looks good on me so I admire on others instead 🙂

I think the skinnies look good @Sooverthemill. I'm sticking with skinnies - I like them to wear with boots. I don't like them on me with shoes or trainers as I think I need boots with them to balance my proportions but that's just my body shape! Looks great on others. I like that there are more different shapes of jeans around now - I prefer slightly looser ones to wear with trainers in the spring and summer.

Your skirt experiment is really interesting @Sickoffamilydrama. I can imagine myself losing hours to researching body shapes now 😆

I bought an electric debobbler for this cardigan and it's brought it back to life, I'm really pleased.

Just realised my comment on your jeans sounded harsh @Sooverthemill that wasn't my intention more they are good to keep as a basic but you might not be feeling them because they aren't a wow item much like any basic really.

Great blouse @MargotLB and Cardigan @WestrayWife & @PalacePaper yes you'll fall into a rabbit hole but I can see it will be useful for me to purchase more mindfully. You know when something is nice but doesn't quite work this might explain why.

The jeans in pic 2 look a lot better with the tank top @Sooverthemill - are they the same ones but look different in each pic? Fantastic tank top and I think the jeans in pic 2 look great.
@WestrayWife lovely blouse and trousers! Yes Matalan can sometimes come up trumps.
I see what you mean about the skirt @Sickoffamilydrama - I had a look at the kibbe thing as well but it's a bit complicated and hard to decide on some of it. I am pretty sure I am an hourglass and dressing for that seems to work for me (although high waists can be very tricky for me - it all depends on how well the trouser is cut). I think you have the best kind of body shape, I am very envious!
Some weekend outfits for me - I was meant to be going out tonight and had tried this outfit on in preparation but it's cancelled now as one of my dc had a positive LF yesterday and the other one although negative has a temperature and says he is aching all over. So it's been a quiet day today!

@WestrayWife I hope your dh is busy entertaining the dc

That outfit looks fantastic both ways @Sooverthemill. If skinnies suit a person then they should bloody well wear them as they can look so good with a shirt and flats. I just think it’s nice that we’re back in a place where we have a variety of jean shapes to choose from, skinnies included.

I went on a jeans shopping trip yesterday and didn’t get any!

Spent the morning in joggers and then we popped out so I thought I’d try and old dress, jumper and my docs. Mainly as I saw a lovely dress yesterday in h and m and wish I’d bought it!

@EnoBaby LOVE your outfit. That belt is fantastic- such a shame those trousers are old as otherwise I would be ordering them straight away. I have a similar pair from Monki but they are very lightweight and definitely not for winter.

Sorry to hear jeans shopping didn't go as planned @Softpebbles. Shopping for jeans is a total nightmare- it's always total chance as to whether a style will fit/suit.

Thanks @EllaPaella - bought these trousers in khaki and black during first lockdown just after I’d had my DD. There were so many fantastic trousers around at that time. Then Topshop went under not long after that 😢
