What will you definitely not be buying in 2022?

Inspired by a minimalist YouTuber, I'm writing a list of things I am not buying in 2022.

  1. I'm not buying anymore one event wonders! Things which only do for the very odd event. I barely go out these days and when I do, it's generally really casual. There is no need for cocktail dresses these days.

  2. no more leggings - I have plenty and, truth be told, they don't really suit me

  3. no more pointed flat shoes. I always buy these thinking they look smart enough for whatever but also are comfy as they are flat. I actually don't love how they look on me and I I find them they comfy. No more

  4. no more dungarees! Keep trying, and keep failing, to suit these. Ditto pinafore dresses

  5. no more tights. I don't wear tights! Why do I have so many? I think it's because tights and a dress used to be my go to outfit, but now don't wear dresses in winter and don't need tights in the summer, so there is no need for a drawer full of tights

  6. mini skirts... I'm too tall and clumsy for these. Always show my arse

  7. no more jewelery, ESPECIALLY statement pieces. I don't wear them

Is anyone else shunning specific items this year? I'm doing low buy anyway, but putting this together to remind myself of specific things to avoid

No more makeup
Wtf is the point?
Mask just ruins it anyways ….
Have stopped buying premium and every day is Boots No7 as it’s a pure waste.
I also did not buy :
going out clothes
Jumpers
Hats
Coats !
Don’t need them!

*wish I could get DH to do this: he kept buying clothes on furlough in lockdown and I kept asking “where are you going?”Confused

How are you all doing?
So far I have only brought two wool jumpers from m& s, one was in the sale and one is a mens 100% wool, I had a £5.00 off voucher, I have a phase eight black summer dress that was half price from John Lewis, I think I am going to keep it as its a lovely fit and great quality, It will replace a cheaper dress thats now in the charity bag, so far no new make, I did order the hourglass palette, but I sent it back as I didn't need it.

So proud of myself. Went into Zara which had racks and racks of mega reductions. Tried a few bits on. Walked out with nothing. Also returned a handbag, a phone case that I don't need that I bought before Christmas

Also went to the tip, took a pile of paperwork for confidential shredding.

But i also bought a cleaning caddy and some sundries but they were only things that I am running out of.

Life is getting simpler!

No clothing in any form. No footwear or accessories. In preparation, I cleared out my knicker drawer thinking that knickers might possibly be the only thing I'd need replacing. After chucking the past their best ones, I was left with 46 pairs. So I need absolutely nothing in the clothes department this year at least.

Well done @declutteringmymind 👏

I’m doing well too. Not even tempted. Laying off booze is helping so much in that regard. I’m eager to have a massive clear out (not just clothes), I feel like it’ll do my mental health a lot of good.

No more nail varnish- I have enough as it is
No more jumpers- I have fair too many
No more earrings- I never end up wearing them
No more lip balms- I only use the blue tin of Vaseline now and the rest end up being half used
No more makeup- I will use up what I have already got first
No more 'on trend' fast fashion items- I will stick to classy clothes which are always in style

LoveFall · 21/01/2022 22:52

No more craft supplies or paint, unless it is something I use all the time and it has run out. This means no more watching YouTube videos and then rushing to buy whatever the heck they are using. I am terrible for that.

No more clothes. I have plenty.

No more kitchen gadgets. I think I have almost every one known to humankind. Although I have been wondering where the rubber tube garlic peeling thingme my late Mum gave me is...

Imissmoominmama · 22/01/2022 11:51

No more wine. I want to lose weight.

No more clothes that aren’t walking clothes.

No more perfume. I usually have a quarterly subscription.

No makeup other than the tinted moisturiser, blusher, lip gloss, and mascara that I always use.

What I will buy.

New trail runners (mine are worn out).

One merino base layer.

Two pairs of walking leggings.

One t-shirt.

New knickers.

Supplements- I take 3.

Holidays.
