Knee high boots with skinny jeans?

Is this a complete no no? And if not then which ones, brown suede or black leather?

I think if you like them go ahead personally I'd wear the suede ones. Also I love your top!

Neither. It's a very dated look. The boots would be better with a midi dress.

I prefer the black boots and disagree the trousers are not skinny enough, it's trendier for them to be a bit baggier, like a pirate.

No, wear an ankle boot then the whole ensemble will be lovely

The black boots look like wellies, and the brown ones don't go with the top.

To be fair, the top is more what's not right about the whole look than the jeans and boots. Independently, fine. Not as an ensemble.

Do you have a different top OP? Do you have black leggings/jeggings instead of jeans?

I know looser shaped jeans are in but not with knee high boots.

The ankle boot looks more current- you could try cuffing the jeans just above the boot too, but that doesn't suit everyone. The top looks great for a night out!

Black jeans might look good, but I think black leggings would look very incongruous!

Argh this damn top. I like the top just doesn’t seem to go with anything else I have! I have black skinny jeans but they don’t look right either. Will try cuffing the jeans with my ankle boots, I am a shortie though so not sure if that will work.

@MyView2 the top is gorgeous! But everyone is correct IMO. Black or blue velveteen trousers or even wool or suede. Ankle boots. The boots you could wear in your first pic with jeans and a nice jumper maybe with a modern cut and you could layer with a longer T-shirt or long vest underneath in a contrast colour. The lighter jeans would look lovely with white trainers and a wool hoodie. The brown suede boots would look nice with a midi flowing boho dress. Mint velvet had a few in October. Best wishes

The jeans aren't skinny enough.
I still wear skinnies, so not anything against those but I always thought that look was a bit Panto.

I like that look, but I don't really follow what's fashionable I just like what I like, so it's a yes with the suede boot from me

Brown boots perfectly ok. Top lovely. Could you try it with a skirt, midi length maybe a bit gauzy, or floaty, plus the brown boots?

The second look , with the ankle boot, works. Wear that.

I like the 2nd outfit with the short boots.

Second outfit the jeans are totally wrong for the top, and the belt is really dated. The ankle boots aren't right either. On balance the first look is better - the jeans are better with the top. First jeans with second boots? Or maybe need to buy some new boots. Top is lovely

I know skinny jeans are out of favour at the moment, but I don't mind skinny jeans with knee boots. I think the top is the problem. I think you need something slightly longer over skinny jeans. Tucking the top into the jeans and then tucking the jeans into the boots looks off to me. Unless maybe a bodysuit with a big chunky cardigan over the top.

I'd go with different jeans with that top...or maybe a skirt? Do you have a leather / look mini? That might look nice with it I think.
