Hmm, I've just been reading up about Freeway on Fragrantica. I'm not too sure about that one tbh, I don't tend to like tobacco notes. If it's in one of their taster sets I might try it that way.

It's citrussy on me but has a really unusual base

SOTD MG Plum. I tentatively vacuum packed some of my heavy knits today but it is still v v chilly here.

Still chilly in the mornings and evenings here, but the afternoons are beginning to feel milder and brighter.

Hence SOTN is Ambre Narguile - warming cinnamon laced apples for a chill evening.

I've fished out some of my spring scents and will wear them on the warmer, sunnier days, and my winter favourites on the many days that are still crisp and cold. I'm not ready to give up Orientals and Ambers just yet!

I love my Orientals and Amber's so much its hard to put them away...

It's hairdressers today so it'll probably be Estee lauder modern muse nuit

Ah no. You can see with a bare eye that it is not level. Sorry, I hope you can get it sorted out. Your bathroom looks gorgeous.

I think I am going to give Avon another shot. We still have the Avon lady here, my lady sadly passed away during the first covid wave, so I need to find another. She would give me all sorts of samples and I have no idea what I did with them.

It is starting to get a chill in the air here, so my perfume draw needs a sort out now, all the spring/summer fresh scents to the back.

Into autumn and then winter for me......

I would be so annoyed too @ChiswickFlo, you really can see it's not level just by looking at it. Is it too late to call the plumber who fitted the toilet and see if they'll fix it under guarantee or similar? Might be worth a shot. Your bathroom looks really stylish btw.

We don't seem to have much luck with plumbers here either. One visited my mum to fit a new washing machine, tried to turn of the mains water, caused a leak in the pipe, then charged her to put it right! 🤬

Sorry to hear you're out of sorts @isthismylifenow, hope your day improves. It makes me feel strange if I forget perfume too - almost as though I'm half naked. 🙈

I've had nothing bit trouble with the bathroom and downstairs WC tbh.
I'm really unhappy with the standard of work and finish for what we paid.

They caused a pipe leak in the downstairs loo which they denied. Took 3 goes to get the tiling right in the bathroom, rhey bought the wrong colour tile, they drilled into the wrong wall, the plaster finish is poor....I could go on...

I'm so livid with dh though. I've been telling him for 4 months it's not level and he totally dismissed me even when the loo seat started buckling.

Would trading standards be interested?

SOTD Gallivant Tel Aviv. Lovely on a beautiful sunny day. Feels like spring has finally arrived!

SOTD has been Shalimar - its first outing this spring. 🌱🌷

Beautifully sunny here too, with a crystal clear blue sky.

SOTD Penhaligons Lily of the Valley. Chilly but lovely and bright here today. Did I tell you I bought a bottle of Diorissino? It’s coming tomorrow.

@FestivelyScent funny, I adore Shalimar but for me it's an Autumnal scent. I'm on the verge of putting it away!

@Judystilldreamsofhorses I almost wore Diorissimo today, such a glorious spring scent. I went for Prada Infusion d'Iris instead.

SOTD is Contradictions in Ilk Virtuous from my Perfume Society box. The smelling notes say it is supposed to evoke a Tuscan monastery. I'm getting lots of herbs with an undercurrent of incense. It's quite intriguing and totally different to the sort of thing I would normally wear.

@DramaAlpaca I love Shalimar too, but yes, it's firmly a spring/summer scent for me. In fact, the notes of Shalimar smell just like Easter to me - the citrussy bergamot, the almost cakey vanilla, and the churchy incense - and although I wear it throughout spring and for comfort during the summer, this period before Easter feels like its natural home. I spray lightly, and that warm-cool aspect Shalimar has plus the smooth blending mean it never feels too heavy. I love orientals and ambers so much, I suppose I never really do give them up completely even in warmer weather - there will always be one or two 'lighter' (and usually quite powdery - I find powdery fragrances perfect for s/s) ones in amongst my greens, chypres etc.

Just arrived in sunny Padstow for the weekend. Shazam! this evening.
