My pp dupe of angels share arrived...I think its really good

I'm really enjoying wearing avon timeless today

Once sprayed I always wonder why I dont wear it more often!

SOTD Scherzo. It has lasted all day but have topped up with some PP By the Fireplace now I’m home.

SOTD is a perfume parlour dupe of MDCI Chypre Palatin. This is something different for me; I just threw it in my order a few months ago without really thinking and completely forgot about it. I'm not really sure what I think of it yet. The opening is a very juicy orange, like someone has just zested and juiced the fruit, followed by a rich musky vanilla. I get hints of iris and plum, and a thick, sweet and warm base. I can't really put my finger on what it is I don't like, but there's definitely something bothering me.

Ooh, that's good about the pp Angel's Share @ChiswickFlo, I was hoping it'd be close.

SOTD is Chanel No 19 Poudre. I'm disappointed in this one - I'd love it if I could actually smell it Unfortunately it's a very light skin scent on me. Maybe I need to overspray a lot.

SOTD Liz Earle 15. @DramaAlpaca I find 19 Poudre lasts really well and have worn it since it launched, I must be on about my third bottle now - is it definitely genuine?

@Judystilldreamsofhorses I've been wondering if it's genuine too It's not performing like a Chanel and it certainly wasn't cheap. I will have to do a bit of investigating and check out the returns policy from the website I ordered it from.

I finally got Goutals Eau De Hadrien - it is LUSH! Fresh and delicious and lasts.

Just to say, I love 19 Poudre. I find it strong, green and sharp - a little spikey against the clouds of green powder.

It isn't really a skin scent - it acts as a sort of cloud around you.

Is it possible you are a bit nose-blind to it?

I do hope it's not a fake. That would be very depressing. 🙁

@thecatfromjapan I think you might have it with the nose blindness idea. The site I got it from is reputable and has good reviews. I think I'll try some in a store and see if the effect is the same. Spiky, green and powdery is what I want

Have you tried 4160tuesdays ealing Green?

Mostly, I have been cleaning today which makes me livid 😡 the "boys" will all descend later and RUIN it 😬

The alarm man came out to service it but the it isn't re setting. Grr.

Ds2 has gone into school today at his insistence - dosed up on ibuprofen at my insistence ☺️

I think it's a reaction to his 2nd covid Jab.

Nice and sunny here today and I'm trying out a couple of Floral Streets today, Arizona Bloom and Wild Vanilla Orchid. The Arizona Bloom is very coconutty, has that suntan lotion vibe. I didn't really like the Wild Vanilla Orchid at first - it has a strange fruity (blackcurrant maybe) note, but it has now settled down to a nice soft vanilla, not too sweet. I don't think longevity will be great on either of them though.

Lemon is tricky on me as well, even though the scent of actual lemons is one of my favourite smells. I've got a sample of Dance Among the Lace by Miller Harris and it turns into overpowering lemon floor cleaner as soon as I put it on my skin.

I've got samples of Fluffy Lemon Top and Lemon Sherbet on the way, so hopefully the 4160 ones will be ok for me too!

They are 2 I wear a lot! :)

SOTD is Miss Dior Originale, because it is beautifully sunny here today, there are children playing in the street and we are going to have roast chicken later - it feels like the first day of spring! This is a beautiful green chypre, but I can only wear it when there is a bit of warmth in the air, otherwise it makes me feel very cold. But it's perfect for today - it smells so hopeful!

I find lemon top notes troublesome too! Lots of lemony things turn to floor cleaner or furniture polish on me. Plus, the lemon notes used in perfumes rarely smell like the freshly zested fruit nor even like lemon cake (one of my favourite smells - so homely!) and so I'm often left disappointed. Not tried any 4160Ts, though.

I love Chanel No19 @DramaAlpaca, but have never smelled the poudre version, will have to sniff next time I pass Boots.

I threw out that pp tester from yesterday - it dried down to smell like some awful lynx bodyspray. 🤢

Ooh, no I haven't! I don't live in the UK and they don't ship to the EU, but I got a sample set sent to relatives and it's waiting for me to collect when I visit in May. I was thinking of getting a few more, so I'm adding Ealing Green to the list. Thanks for the tip
