Make up product that make you glow / look alive

I’ve realised that all my make up products are matte and make me look a bit dead / one dimensional. I’d like to add one or two products that bring some life back into my face. Please share the one make up product you use that makes you look glowing, or helps you to look more alive!
Unfortunately I don’t have any any recommendations 🤣

Two recommendations:

  • Charlotte tilbury unisex healthy glow. Not so much a bronzer as a light tint that just makes you look better. Not matte
  • glossier future dew. Either all over or rubbed on as a highlighter. Gives great, natural, non sparkly glow. People always tell me I look well when I wear this.

(Sorry I know you said one product but I couldn't choose)

Hourglass concealer. It's amazing. I look much more awake and younger. (I hope). It really is great for dark circles under the eye. I buy the travel size one and it still lasts forever as you don't need much.

@Lotsofpots where do you buy the glossier future dew from?

CloudyStorms · 08/12/2021 10:51

Charlotte tilbury highlighter in a tube thing.

I get it from their website - they deliver to the UK with no customs etc. Their blushers are also brilliant. And their body scrub. And - the list goes on!

I’d say blusher - maybe Nars Orgasm.
Or bronzing drops in your moisturiser, maybe Tan Luxe

RadioSixMusicLover · 08/12/2021 11:12

Hourglass bronzing powder. Chanel bronzer, in the large round pot, a coral blush, Dior or Nars are amazing.

CT Hollywood Flawless Filter

Cream blusher instead of powder blush and sparing use of anything that gives a matte finish. Vitamin C serum in the morning.

St tropez facial mist

coronafiona · 08/12/2021 13:29

Beauty & the boutique water blush, adds a nice highlight to cheekbones and eyelids

MissingGrandstand · 08/12/2021 13:32

Supergoop glow screen - feels hugely expensive for a suncream but more justifiable if you look at is as a primer/suncream/glow product all in one which is what I use it as!

Also expensive but the Drunk Elephant O-Bloos Rosi Drops are ridiculously glowy as well, you can get the miniature version in a set for £19 (before any offers) along with the bronzer and tinted moisturiser and they last FOREVER because you need such a tiny amount each time

I have become addicted to the Fenty Body Sauce in Pearl. I saw Cate the Great on YouTube raving about it, and I thought I’d try it. While it’s supposed to be a luminous body makeup, I’m too old for that shit. It truly is the most multi of multi-tasking products I’ve ever had. Most days I just squirt a bit in with my sunscreen and I’m good to go. (Evens skin tone and provides lovely, non-glittery glow with a tiny hint of colour.) If I need more coverage, I do as before, then mix it directly into my foundation and go from there. So far I haven’t found any foundation that it doesn’t play nicely with. You can also use it simply as a primer directly under foundation, then dot some on top as a highlighter before you powder. (I don’t bother with powder.) Best thing is that because it was intended for the body, it comes in a honking big tube! I’ve used mine every day for nearly a year and my guess is that I’m about halfway through the tube.
Also, while I haven’t used it in ages, if you want a dewy formula with coverage - try iT cosmetics CC cream. You can try the original formulation or the illuminating one. It lasts for ages and it doesn’t feel dry and cakey by the end of the day.

Charlotte tilbury hollywood flawless filter. Holy grail product.

FestiveFruitloop · 08/12/2021 14:30

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder. I have the Dim Light one and despite the name I find it's great for giving a subtle glow.

If you shop on QVC, the Tarte glow powders are awesome too.

Soap and Glory Glow All Out powder used to be my holy grail, but they seem to have discontinued it. pouts

I find this really good.

chloechloe · 08/12/2021 18:28

Before you buy any new products I suggest you just dial down on your face powder assuming you use one. Just use it to dust over your T-zone and set any under eye concealer. Leave your cheeks as they are. I find that is enough to keep my skin looking glowing although admittedly my blusher does have a sheen to it.

doadeer · 08/12/2021 21:27

For me it starts at the skincare.

Vitamin C
A good primer like Laura Mercier
Erborian CC cream

This combo makes me glow

For me it's definitely the skin care. I have before and after pictures of using retinol and hydroqinone and the difference is very noticeable.
