Are these boots awful or cool?

Would love a straw poll on these boots which I ordered with BF discount.

I'm an early 30s mum of small children and I just feel totally lost style-wise! I used to know what looked good and current and now I just feel clueless. I'm 5'4" size 12 pear shape.

I have a pair of 1460 dark brown forlife DMs which are super comfy, just wanted something I could put on to look a bit more cool... fashionable... less frumpy and scruffy! With black jeans and black/dark knitwear. Help!

Are these boots awful or cool?

I love those. Although my DMs are ridiculously uncomfortable, which is sad because they were very expensive.

I really like them too.

That style wasn’t comfortable on me because they say awkwardly on my calves. I think they come up a bit higher. Hopefully they’ll be ok on you.

Very trendy. If you wanted to be even more trendy go for DmS with a platform sole - but the more classic DmS never go out of fashion.

Oh wow a unanimous yes! Looks like they're staying. I would love to wear them with a dress but I have chunky legs and can't pull it off 😂

Cool and would look amazing with a floral tea dress and denim jacket in the spring or with jeans.

True about DM's but after you DO break them in they are a friend flor life. I have had mine 4 years and not a sign of wear, apart from how comfy they are.

That said, especially here on MN, i wonder how many people will bin their DM's when the new trends take over. They're popular on here recently, but that won't last - as it never does with any, even supposedly classic items.

Weirdly i never see anyone wearing them in real life. I am the lone DM wearer of this neck of the woods Grin

I think most DMs are trend proof. I’ve work them for decades.

I think theyre hideous but Im obviously in the minority! While they dont fit my style, there are so many people who wear them and look fantastic so I guess it comes back to the old stock conclusion we all come to on these threads (1) different things suit different people, what looks good on you might look not so good on me and (2) lifes too short, wear and enjoy :)

If you could find a pair of original (Made in England) DMs they would be even cooler - and way more comfortable.The new made in Vietnam ones are hellishly difficult to break in.

Or try these alternatives which are made in Nottingham and much more comfortable:
