Are these boots awful or cool?

Would love a straw poll on these boots which I ordered with BF discount.

I'm an early 30s mum of small children and I just feel totally lost style-wise! I used to know what looked good and current and now I just feel clueless. I'm 5'4" size 12 pear shape.

I have a pair of 1460 dark brown forlife DMs which are super comfy, just wanted something I could put on to look a bit more cool... fashionable... less frumpy and scruffy! With black jeans and black/dark knitwear. Help!

Are these boots awful or cool?

They would make short legs look even shorter but aside from that they are ok ✅

Them lasting both physically and in terms of style is important. I do think DMs are ultimately timeless and stand firm to changing styles of jeans, dress etc. I know what you mean about the change in quality- it's why I went for the forlife 1460 over the regular ones, but these do actually feel nice.

I did look at Solovair but they are quite a bit more expensive and the DMs have a zip on the inside which I think will be easier in terms of chucking them on when getting out of the door with kids.

Awful

True, they are more expensive but they have rave reviews and the idea of buying something made in the UK (rare these days) rather than mass produced and shipped halfway across the world was a big factor for me.

I want these boots, I want them so badly. But they are sold out in my size.
I don't want them in 8 hole, I want the 10 hole and I am bereft.
They are sooooo cool

MissBridgetJones · 02/12/2021 12:06

Love them!

Bellyups · 02/12/2021 12:08

Cool….but I only think so on tall willowy types

Bellyups · 02/12/2021 12:08

Just my opinion

PatriciaHolm · 02/12/2021 12:09

Well, 17 year old DD has 2 very similar pairs!

And I have a chunky heeled pair ;-)

They are all extremely comfy.

doadeer · 02/12/2021 12:09

This is always in style in my opinion. Also practical for your lifestyle though I need soooo many pairs of socks with my dms as they aren't that comfortable

Avarua · 02/12/2021 12:10

Cool.
My last pair of DMs lasted five years of almost constant wear. Bloody comfy too.

Viviennemary · 02/12/2021 12:10

Absolutely Ghastly is my opinion.

madisonbridges · 02/12/2021 12:10

I think they're horrible but I guess practical if you're doing some sort of heavy manual labour.

DazzlePaintedBattlePants · 02/12/2021 12:10

Cool, but the zip is cheating!

tillyandmilly · 02/12/2021 12:13

Love them - bag on trend !

gersteddybears · 02/12/2021 12:20

I really don't like this style of boot but they are "cool" if that matters.

TartanPyjamas · 02/12/2021 12:20

@Bellyups I'm more short and tree-trunky 😂

@madisonbridges wrestling two small children out of the door and into car seats in the morning counts as heavy manual labour to me

@TartanPyjamas honestly it’s just my opinion and I’m in the minority. If you like them definitely get them Smile

Pipsandseeds · 02/12/2021 12:33

I don't agree that DMs have always been in. They were cool during the 90s and have been cool for the last few years. In between, not so much. It wouldn't bother me to wear boots that had gone 'out' though!

OnGoldenPond · 02/12/2021 14:40

Well cool. Love DMs.

Fetchthevet · 02/12/2021 14:45

Cool
