I've just treated myself to a few bargains from Gemporia. I don't usually do big flashy stones, but fancied something a bit different and these did not disappoint. Not to everyone's taste I know, but I love them! Please show me yours Smile

@evilharpy I love cluster rings too, and think they are due a revival after solitaires being the thing for decades. My mum’s is supposed to be a daisy, because daisies were all the rage in the sixties. Her wedding dress had daisy lace too.

Some beautiful rings on this thread. I’ve really enjoyed looking at the them all and hearing the stories that go with them. Thank you for sharing!

I got this after my divorce. I was really disappointed in the cash offer for my platinum engagement and wedding ring. However the jewellers offered a voucher for double the cash offer and I thought I'll never be able to get luxury jewellery again. I went for this 18ct gold sapphire and diamond ring, and I love it. So colourful after previously only wearing white metal.

I too love cluster rings and like the daisy style, think they're so pretty.

My mum's wedding dress also had daisy lace! Are you my secret sister or something? Grin

Mine is a simple band with a small blue diamond and small pink diamond set into it. My husband had it made for me when we had our son and daughter (twins). I like simple flat rings that don’t catch if I’m wearing it every day.

@Eggsley that's a beautiful ring.

This fashion for a solitaire diamond the bigger the better is just boring now. They all look the same whereas the rings you see on here at antique shops or second hand in jewellers the designs are much more interesting

VenusClapTrap · 04/12/2021 17:21

Ha ha must be, @evilharpy!

Coniferhedge · 04/12/2021 18:36

Loving seeing all these beautiful rings! Can I just ask, would you recommend Gemporia as a good, reliable shop? I’ve never heard of them before, but I’m turning 50 early next year and was thinking of getting a nice ring from DH for my birthday. I’m very tempted by some of the ones on there!

evilharpy · 04/12/2021 19:42

Today's right hand ring.

I too am loving all the stories that go with the rings. The cluster ones are so pretty. My only family heirloom ring is a very chunky 22ct gold band, which is the wedding rings of my grandmother and three grandmothers before her, melted into one! I only really wear it on what would have been her birthday every year, as I'm so scared of losing it.

@Coniferhedge I would definitely recommend Gemporia. I was tempted for years, but always put off by the fact that they're a shopping channel! I took the plunge a couple of years ago and have made 4 or 5 purchases now. I've been impressed every time and never had any problems. The items come with an authenticity certificate and sometimes extra information about the particular gemstone. I really rate them :)

@justasking111 thank you. It's gold with 16 diamonds in the square and then two either side, all set in platinum. My grandma only wore it for special occasions, which is a shame because it's so beautiful. I wear it all the time as I love looking at it and it reminds me of her.

@AugustSeptemberOctober Thank you! I’ll keep looking then. I’m always a bit wary of buying jewellery from the internet, so it’s good to know they’re legit.

justasking111 · 05/12/2021 17:22

I had a womble around eBay last night. Many years ago QVC did some nice diamonique jewellery set in gold and white gold. Now they do very little and it's silver. It's worth a look

I hadn't heard of gemporia before

noodlezoodle · 05/12/2021 19:56

@Thatsplentyjack - I'd absolutely love a silver version of @LumosSolem's ring but I can only see gold rings on the Norm Jewels website. Am I just being dim or did you get yours from another site?

coodawoodashooda · 05/12/2021 20:01

I bloody love this thread!

Thatsplentyjack · 05/12/2021 20:03

@noodlezoodle no, same website but there was an option to change the material. Hang on I'll try and find it.

themerrywifeofwindsor · 05/12/2021 20:03

I was recently given this, it's an emerald. It's a bit too big to wear with any regularity, and people will probably assume it's fake, but I should probably just wear it and be fabulous!

Hope that works @noodlezoodle

This is basically the same ring @noodlezoodle, but cheaper.

noodlezoodle · 05/12/2021 20:22

@Thatsplentyjack THANK YOU! That's so weird, they don't offer that option on their actual .com website but they do on etsy. Off to order now Grin

Araisaris · 05/12/2021 20:30

@thisplaceisweird

Ok so you've convinced me...I'm about to make a Gemporia order for my own Christmas present, help me choose?

www.gemporia.com/en-gb/product/diamond-ring-in-9k-gold-0.55ct/omkk74/

www.gemporia.com/en-gb/product/minas-gerais-canary-kunzite-ring-in-9k-gold-2.60cts/povj80/

www.gemporia.com/en-gb/product/csarite%C2%AE-ring-in-9k-gold-1.90cts/titq98/

It's for my right hand, middle or ring finger (I have engagement and wedding band on left) and I tend to wear a lot of gold plated rings that are quite big and chunky on the right ,but wouldn't necessarily mix and match if it looked odd.

Thoughts?

Definitely the £214 one on the middle link. It’s beautiful.
WithASpider · 05/12/2021 20:47

Here are mine. The diamond trilogy was my beloved Great Aunt's engagement ring and was willed to my mum as she didn't have children of her own. Mum gave it to me when I got engaged to DH. It's yellow gold and platinum.
The half eternity was a Christmas present from DH after 5 years together. It's white gold and diamond.
I never take them off.

BamboozledandBefuddled · 05/12/2021 21:04

@themerrywifeofwindsor That is stunning!!
