Have seen a few old threads like this so stole the idea hoping for some inspirationBlush

I'm currently living in leggings and jumpers, or baggy dresses and tights. I've recently lost just over 2 stone and hoping to lose more. My body size/type is already changing but I just don't know how to dress. I am 5ft4 and around a size 18 now. I don't really like my stomach area, and I have chunky arms and thighs and big boobs

Would love to know where everyone gets their clothes from and also some inspiration for outfit ideas. I usually use ASOS, Boohoo, New Look etc but finding that everywhere has crop tops etc which I really don't wantGrin

I went out for lunch today and wore a midi length leather wrap skirt and a cream sort of Victorian frilly blouse and suede ankle boots. Normally I wear midi length dresses, fiat boots of joggers from Hush with sweatshirt and jacket.

@Wagsandclaws sorry to hear about the trapped nerve, that’s never fun! That’s a lovely outfit! And I’m amazed you’re a 16/18, you look tiny!

@CrimbleCrumble1 (love the usernameGrin) I’m really wanting to try something leather or leather look, have been thinking maybe a skirt or trousers. Where did you get your skirt from?

@WinifredTheWondrous love the cardigan! I’m also a top heavy apple

@WearingPurpleAlready go you! Sounds like a lovely outfit!

Today I went for a black midi jumper dress pulled in with a belt, a cropped cardigan and chunky lace up boots. Bit overdressed for where I work but I liked the outfit soGrin

I'm 5'8" and around an 18, I carry most of it around my middle.

I'm stuck home waiting for a PCR result for my 4 year old, I work in a school so I just know that I'll be hugely unpopular 😬

Today am wearing grey skinny jeans (next hypercurve), white tee shirt and Hush grey wide jersey tee. White superstars when I went out.

I'll try for a pic later

I’m a LOT shorter and a LOT wider than the Next model but I felt pretty good.

Mediocrates · 17/11/2021 20:04

@Mylee Most of my dungas are from Lucy & Yak, and then I have two denim pairs (cropped, wide leg) from Simply Be

Myshitisreal · 18/11/2021 05:33

Tagging in. I was on the old plus size threads.

👋

Mylee · 18/11/2021 11:24

@StormyTeacups oh no! Hope you get a negative result for her

@CrimbleCrumble1 LOVE the skirt! That’s exactly the kind of outfits I want to try but haven’t plucked up the courage yet

@Myshitisreal hello!👋🏼

@Mylee the joys of being an extreme apple shape. I reckon my legs are about a size 10 then you get to my flat bum and my stomach has a rather large overhang from being 6 odd stone heavier and 5 children.

I struggle massively with trousers in as much as I need a 16/18 waist but the majority of trousers are cut for a pear shape ( I'm looking at you Karen Millen ) so I tend to wear wide leg trousers all the time from jeans to normal every day trousers as they hide the skinny legs and balance out my much larger top half.

I also have a lot of loose skin on my upper legs so can't wear shorter shorts and a mini skirt needs tights every time.

Basically I'm shaped like a capital B 🤣 but I do know how to dress mostly for my shape - those primark leggings are a 16 but are nice and tight on the legs - have to be careful though as I don't want to look too top heavy with skinny legs so usually wear chunky boots to try and balance it out ( my bra size is still a 38 f even after all that weight loss.)

@CrimbleCrumble1
That skirt and top are divine, right up my street tbh, I don't look on next that much as there is so much choice and I end up overspending 🤣.

I found an amazing leather skirt on Karen Millen that had an elastic waist and I bought in a 16 ( I'd say I'm more an 18 on the waist tbh ) from their regular range and I love it so much, they did a midi length one with the same elastic waist but they never seemed to have it in a 16 so couldn't get that one.

I'm still in bed, I feel terrible as can't sleep because of the bloody nerve pain, I'm supposed to be taking ds1 and ds2 to Lapland two weeks in Saturday with Dh and eldest dd 29 but the way it's going I'm going to have to stay here whilst they go if this doesn't improve.

I went out with my dd's bridesmaids on Saturday ( trapped never happened on Monday - just woke up and couldn't move my head ) so I'll attach a pic of my outfit.

Dress was shein plus range, cape coat thing also shein and I had merino wool tights on with flat shoes also from shein. All super stretchy and comfortable but was black so flattering too!

@StormyTeacups hope you stay negative. We all had covid 4 weeks ago and it went from the two youngest boys to me, Dh, dd and her Dh in 4 day, have to say we got over it pretty quickly - I hope you remain negative 🤞

@Mediocrates I love dungarees, they are so versatile, again I have to look for wide legged ones but I found the simply be cropped ones to be lovely and comfy, also a big fan of the asos plus range jersey ones.

Attached pic of me all in shein on Saturday as still in pj's today.

It was this dress - bloody steal at that price, tempted to buy it in burgundy too!

Mylee · 18/11/2021 13:05

@Mediocrates well I’ve just spent far too long looking at Lucy & Yak and thinking about all the ones I want to buy

@Wagsandclaws I was thinking how good your legs look, I would kill for mine to look like that! Loving the Shein outfit. I’ve never bought from there, do you tend to have good results?

CrimbleCrumble1 · 18/11/2021 13:11

Mylee and Wagsandclaws thank you, I don’t really buy anything hoping it will make me look a bit slimmer anymore I just buy what I like in the size I am enjoy wearing it.
Wagsandclaws that’s a great dress.

beebopado · 18/11/2021 13:32

@WearingPurpleAlready

Oh thank God! That photo isn't you "in scruffs" 😂. Was thinking "shit, if that's you in scruffs I seriously need to up my game"!

Love that outfit. Really flattering.

Same here ! Grin
Mylee · 18/11/2021 13:59

It is absolutely freezing here today, so I’m in black skinnies, a black long sleeve T-shirt, this fluffy coat from ASOS which I love but is far too big for me as I got it slightly oversized already before I lost any weight, and chunky boots from Boohoo which I basically live in

Wagsandclaws · 18/11/2021 14:06

@Mylee shein is very hit and miss, I'd say the quality can be like primark but the odd thing can be like Karen Millen! Read the reviews as that will tell you a lot about the product. I bought the most beautiful burgundy velvet jumpsuit from there and it was so heavy and well made I couldn't believe it, I think it was under £20.

I shop there and mix with more expensive stuff ( same as primark ) as it's hard to buy quality things in plus sizes I've found.

I also highly recommend TU at Sainsbury's, they get the occasional thing that's absolutely amazing and they are also great for basics.

Thanks for the compliments about my legs ha ha I actually wish they were a bit bigger so they matched the rest of me, it's like two little sticks sticking out of a skirt or pair of shorts, no balance at all. I dunno I guess it's because of my age ( nearly 50 ) that I had muscle loss as well as weight certainly on my legs anyway.

That's a super cute outfit @Mylee gotta love a fluffy coat!

@CrimbleCrumble1 thanks 😊 also I'm with you about buying what you like to wear not what makes you look slimmer, I like black for evenings out but I wear a lot of Breton type stripes too and I love them!

WinifredTheWondrous · 18/11/2021 14:10

@Wagsandclaws, you look great to me, but I feel like you do about my own legs! Wish they were a bit bigger tbh and I wish I had a bum!

I've actually been weight training. Started in the summer and I feel a lot better for it. Might be worth a go.

I'm in bootcut jeans, stripy grey tee and navy jumper. Not exciting. I was working today (in uniform), so just got into these when I got home.

Day off tomorrow, so will maybe dress up a bit!

CrimbleCrumble1 · 18/11/2021 14:18

Gotta luv a fluffy coat.

I really like Hush. Glad they're stocking some bigger sizes now!

I love Lucy and Yak as well. Great quality imo too.

Maverick66 · 18/11/2021 17:17

Smile I'm in

WinifredTheWondrous · 18/11/2021 17:21

Also meant to say that I like your fluffy coat @Mylee! Looks cosy too

onemoredayplease · 18/11/2021 18:21

Anyone got any inspiration for a Christmas meal outfit? No where fancy. I normally go for dresses. I'm 5:4 and a size 22.

WinifredTheWondrous · 18/11/2021 18:32

@onemoredayplease

How about something like this? Not available in the red, sadly, but I like the green and black too. I love velvet for Christmas!
