Throwing this out to those FAR more knowledgeable than me about fragrance ( I know there are loads of you on here) ... I want to buy something citrussy and have a budget of £60 max. I tend to use Arden green tea mostly, I love there smell but it only lasts about 5 mins on me!!! Not only for me but as a gift too, same budget. Any ideas?

I'm not one of those people you're talking about so can't go into detail or anything, but this one's my favourite:

dannydyerismydad · 06/11/2021 12:45

Marc Jacobs Daisy is floral and citrusy.

NotMyCat · 06/11/2021 12:51

This is really nice, and there's a bergamot one too

Was coming on to say Lime basil and mandarin by Jo Malone, it's a little bit pricier at around £100 but a small bottle is cheaper

AlbertBridge · 06/11/2021 13:01

4-7-11 is divine but the scent evaporates within minutes. 😔

Am following with interest. Have you tried Happy by Clinique? The original one? I love it, reminds me of oranges.

PearlAsylum · 06/11/2021 13:03

Chanel Chance Eau Fraiche is my go-to citrussy.

Closely followed by Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Pamplelune.

SRK16 · 06/11/2021 13:06

Guerlain manderine basilic. I have the orange one PP mentioned but prefer the manderine, it makes me happy!

BettyBe · 06/11/2021 13:22

I love Cristalle Eau Verte by Chanel and Luna by Penhaligons. I'm not sure if the 30ml sizes would be within your budget. I also used to wear a DKNY perfume in a tall thin bottle, that was lovely and fresh.

MrsSchadenfreude · 06/11/2021 13:26

Agree with @NotMyCat. Those two are lovely and last well. You might try 4160 Tuesdays Rhubarb and Citrus. Guerlain Pampelune is also good, ditto Annick Goutal’s Eau d’Hadrien and Eau du Sud.

MrsSchadenfreude · 06/11/2021 13:26

DKNY Woman is also a good one.

Opal8 · 06/11/2021 13:27

You need something eau de parfum strength for it to last, not colognes

Check out Goutal Eau de Hadrien, 4160 tuesdays lemon sherbert and fluffy lemon top. Also invisible Ben.

Avon do some lovely citrus scents such as Avon little black dress weekend

For your budget you could even order a sample set from 4160 tuesdays

Lizardcentral · 06/11/2021 13:45

Try Agua de Colonia by Alvarez Gomez, fresh citrusy and long lasting.

Bluepop09 · 06/11/2021 14:02

DKNY woman edp NOT edt (edt smells like vodka Envy). It's so fresh and citrusy, I love it.

highlandcoo · 06/11/2021 14:28

YY to Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Pamplelune. Grapefruit fresh. I use Body Shop shower gel in pink grapefruit to add layers to the fragrance.

Guerlain AA Limon Verde is also lovely. I wear them both in summer.

More expensive, Jo Malone's Orange Bitters is a warmer spicy citrus fragrance, perfect in winter.

Annonnimoouse42 · 06/11/2021 14:37

I love Serge Lutens Fleurs de citronnier. It perfect when the weather is hot. 'It opens with top notes of nutmeg, petitgrain and lemon blossom. Middle notes are honey, tuberose and neroli. The fragrance finishes with base notes of styrax, iris and musk.'

He also does Fleurs d'oranger, but this smells like cat pee on my skin.

stealingbeauty · 06/11/2021 15:12

Clarins Eau Dynamiste or Liz Earle No 1

JSL52 · 06/11/2021 15:32

Occitane Lemon Verbena.

dontputitinyourmouth · 06/11/2021 15:34

Either Clinique Happy or Chanel Chance eau Fraiche. The Chanel is longer lasting

mrsbyers · 06/11/2021 15:41

L’Occitane verbena - it’s all I use now and it’s so refreshing and uplifting

MrsArrison · 06/11/2021 15:59

I third the recommendation for L'occitane Lemon Verbena, it's so fresh!

Jo Malone's Orange Bitters is my all-time fave, but I have to ration it as it only tends to be sold in the run up to Christmas.

Shay and Blue's Blood Oranges is so vibrant and lasts forever on me, but it does dry down quite leathery/woody and that's not for everyone.

My current favourite is Beauty Pie's Orange Absolute. If you're a member, it's less than £20 a bottle, smells beautifully zingy and has good staying power on me.

rainbowlou · 06/11/2021 16:02

Bit old school but I still love CK1

spongedog · 06/11/2021 16:30

For my day perfume I love Origins Ginger = they offer that and other citrus options for their bodywashes, body lotion etc including grapefruit.

Gutted that Penhaligons stopped Malabah, but I might try some of the suggestions above.

XingMing · 06/11/2021 16:52

My newest citrus-y discovery is Naples, by an indie perfume house called Gallivant. It's citrus over a woody base, so it lasts a bit longer and is warmer than some of the very lemon ones. £65.
