Can you recommend a decent lip salve/balm? I have a budget of about £20. They're so sore and chapped and it's not even that cold yet.

Vaseline works best for me, I apply it frequently during the day all year round.

wtfisgoingonhere21 · 03/11/2021 19:51

Highly recommend paw paw.

I get really chapped dry lips and if I don't kept them good I get cold sores and this is the best balm ever.

I put it on every night in winter before I go to bed.

Blisteze or carmex squeezy. Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream is amazing too.

Spiceup · 03/11/2021 19:52

I like Carmex best and I've tried a lot

Admittedly not many that cost £20 Shock

nancybotwinbloom · 03/11/2021 19:53

Charmed or just plain old Vaseline

nancybotwinbloom · 03/11/2021 19:53

Carmex even

RogueV · 03/11/2021 19:53

Carmex

desperate4spring · 03/11/2021 19:53

Lansinoh nipple cream. Best lip balm I've ever used.

Row1n · 03/11/2021 19:54

Carmex is our go to here as well

Duvetdweller · 03/11/2021 19:54

I don’t buy it very often but I think the Eve Lom one is very good. I normally use Carmex though!

ShirleyPhallus · 03/11/2021 19:55

I’ve tried A LOT and the best one by far is O’Keefe’s lip repair. It’s only about £4 too

dudsville · 03/11/2021 19:59

Sounds like your lips need some help. If you have a balm cleanser then gently work this into your lips and use a warm damp cloth to gently rub. It'll take up dead skin over time. Then I'd use a two layer method, first a thick coat of Nivea blue tub moisturiser followed by a layer of carmex. After a few sessions at this you should see real improvement.

oopsinamechangedagain2021 · 03/11/2021 20:00

Carmex

Xmasfairy86 · 03/11/2021 20:02

Whatever you do find works, slather it on at night. Like loads!

Laladell · 03/11/2021 20:11

Carmex foreverrrr

allofthecheese · 03/11/2021 21:01

Lanisoh nipple cream. But also ByTerry which is out of budget but fab

PearlAsylum · 03/11/2021 21:05

Laneige lip sleep mask overnight and Lanisoh nipple cream during the day.

eyeoresancerre · 03/11/2021 21:07

I second Paw Paw -it's amazing.

cherrysprinkles · 03/11/2021 21:13

My lips were really dry and I've just started using Burts Bees lip balm and they feel so much better already

givingupchocolatemonday · 03/11/2021 21:15

I absolutely swear by Elizabeth Ardens 8 hour cream. You would not regret it!! The original doesn't taste great but it works wonders!!!
They also do an overnight balm. It's still on my lips when I wake up in the morning it's bloody great stuff x

noscoobydoodle · 03/11/2021 21:18

Lansinoh or diprobase at night. Boots no5 protect and perfect in the day.

StylishDuck · 03/11/2021 21:20

Definitely Lansinoh when they're really cracked. Apply before bed. Otherwise Vaseline is good for everyday use.

IsolaPribby · 03/11/2021 21:21

Body Shop Vitamin E lip balm.

Kittykat93 · 03/11/2021 21:23

Why would you need a budget of £20 for a lip balm??? Just get a pot of Vaseline Confused

MooMinCow · 03/11/2021 21:25

Pure lanolin (nipple balm etc) for day to day or Blistex intensive cream (in tiny metal tube) if really chapped
