The weather has certainly turned and this morning felt icy. I was in my (several years old) Karen Millen trench, and although it's lined, it felt a bit too thin for the early morning. I have a thick winter wool coat, but I'd be boiling in the tube & it would probably too warm for later in the day. All my coats are at least 2-3 years old so I'm surreptitiously eyeing up new ones.

What is everyone else wearing this week?

My current favourite is a brown leather aviator jacket with a faux fur collar. I’ve had it about 15 years, and am quite pleased with myself because for the last couple of years it has been a bit snug, and I was going to give up on it, but this year it fits perfectly. It’s good for this time of year, though- not quite a full-on winter coat, but warm enough.

An extra layer underneath or my wool coat.

ohtwatbollocks · 03/11/2021 11:24

This one. But I accept my style isn't for everyone...

Like ohtwatbollocks I've gone retro, mine's a Hearts & Roses one that I've had for years.

A barbour quilted jacket. Probably not very fashionable but perfect for this in-between weather I find!

FindingMeno · 03/11/2021 11:35

A lovely black wool mix classic double breasted 3/4 length
Goes with everything and it feels warm and comfortable.

Lightweight Uniqlo down jacket. Rolls up small if I want to put it in my bag.

Pigtailsandall · 03/11/2021 12:01

No I'm enjoying these unusual coats! They are not my style but I love it when people have different styles.
I'm also not a fan of quilted jackets, probably cause my mum wears them! But agree, something like that would be ideal for this weather

Barbour Cavalry Polarquilt. It’s the perfect thickness for that tricky weather period between trench and proper padded or woollen winter coat. Luckily I really like the country aesthetic and it makes sense where I live and for my lifestyle.

Gonnagetgoing · 03/11/2021 12:07

I'm wearing a QED fur lined parka with fur hood which seems to be keeping me warm now.

I don't want to break out the full on padded coat just yet.

Currently wearing Whistles green velvet puffer jacket.

Love coats and jackets! I also have a black faux fur jacket from Zara and have just purchased a wool tailored coat.

Usually at this time of the year I’d wear my very dark green Jaeger leather jacket and the perfectly coordinating wool/silk scarf but I got bored and sold it 🙄🙄 I never learn my lesson.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 03/11/2021 12:22

Still wfh and doing nothing but school run and dog walks, and it’s pretty cold here this week. Alternating between my H&M wool oversized long coat, my waterproof anorak and I broke out my winter dog walking coat last night - Joules, navy, sheepskin lining and all. But I am in Scotland and not in a city. I haven’t got an autumnal mid-weight coat right now. I went from summer denim jacket to my anorak and I wish I had a tweed blazer/leather jacket or some sort of transitional coat.

DH's old Jaeger jacket. It's rust-coloured & perfect for bright, but cold autumn days. He discarded it years ago, much to my delight as I love it! The lining is quilted green & it's got corduroy cuffs and collar, which make it right on trend. I even bought a scarf to go with it as I didn't have anything that matched.

Sparkai · 03/11/2021 13:27

Wax barbour parka here. I find it perfect for the inbetween weather, but also all the way through winter. I never seem too hot or cold in it

merrygoround51 · 03/11/2021 13:29

A whistles black wool wrap coat . It’s like putting on a blanket

TheCategoryIs · 03/11/2021 13:30

I like to wear a packable gilet underneath my jacket/coat so you don’t have to go full on winter yet.

HollyandIvyandAllThingsYule · 03/11/2021 13:33

Oh yes I have a tweed blazer too that I need to wear at least a few times this month! Next month my Barbour wool poncho will come out. It’s my most favourite winter piece and I look forward to wearing it every year. ☺️☺️

PurpleDaisies · 03/11/2021 13:36

Mustard m and s duffel coat. Much nicer than it sounds.

HollyandIvyandAllThingsYule · 03/11/2021 13:38

I love mustard in autumn/winter. I bet it looks great.👍

A 3 yr old Seasalt Cornwall Plant Hunter coat when not at work. It's lovely and warm and despite all the nonsense I've put it through it's still (just) ok for this winter too.
