(b) I'm a size 12 but have long legs and don't have a huge arse or anything.

In answer to the OP: no.

I agree with PiggyPud's assessment.

harleyd · 13/12/2007 15:40

wear whatever you damn well want
and dont care

expatinscotland · 13/12/2007 15:42

Well, sure, wear what you want. But if you want to look good, then don't wear skinny jeans with boots tucked in if you're over 35, muffin top and size 12.

but size 12 is pretty small..i am of wear what u like as long as it isn't a pretend shirt inside another thing

expatinscotland · 13/12/2007 15:46

it's like the smock tops with leggings/footless tights thing, though.

it's a younger, skinny, tall woman's look.

FlamesparodyOfAChristmasName · 13/12/2007 15:46

We may have the same boots Zippi!

MellowChristmasEveryone · 13/12/2007 15:48

I am 12 and around 5'8 and wouldn't dream of it. My thighs are way too large and boots over jeans would make them larger methinks.

zippitippitoes · 13/12/2007 15:48

thats why i can never find them then

dont recommend the high heeled ankle version tho they disappeear from under you after a couple of drinks

FlamesparodyOfAChristmasName · 13/12/2007 15:49

lmao!!!!

nailpolish · 13/12/2007 15:49

i wear dresses/smocks and leggings/footless tights and i think i look ok...

noddyholder · 13/12/2007 15:50

I am 42 and often wear them as do many of my friends and we have never discussed the age thing!

zippitippitoes · 13/12/2007 15:51

crikey you stylistas are harsh..i should be getting advice from the national trust for my wardrobe then babes

noddyholder · 13/12/2007 15:53

I am 5'5 size 14 top and 12 bottom and they look fine Don't have big bum or thighs but would still wear them if I did.

Gemy, I love your suggestions - thank you! Will be trying them out as soon as I go and get myself a pair of skinny jeans ...

... OK, I want low rise, skinny jeans, not too dark - a good mid-blue denim. What do you suggest? Definitely NOT wearing high-waisted styles!

expatinscotland · 13/12/2007 15:53

i don't feel old, i just feel that i don't want to wear a 21-year-old's look.

just my 2p.

it's a free world, people can wear what they want.

MellowChristmasEveryone · 13/12/2007 15:54

I must add I am very self conscious, lack confidence and very slightly paranoid.

Wear what gives you confidence

harleyd · 13/12/2007 15:56

i got really nice ones today from new look and they were only £20

expatinscotland · 13/12/2007 15:57

susannah looks like a ho when she wears that, though, and rough. she's too old to be wearing that look, seriously.

and madonna. eeeww, she's not ageing well. she really needs to take a leave out of Susan Sarandon and Juliette Binoche's book and get some class.

MellowChristmasEveryone · 13/12/2007 15:59

lol "a ho"
