Do I save my face or my figure?

I lost a good bit of weight last year, which I was really happy about. I was back in my old clothes, looked and felt good (in clothes) My skin didn't do well with the weight loss though, I had turkey neck, jowls, looked older too. My body was very saggy but at least you can cover that up.
I have slowly gained some weight back which is not ideal, but something I'm confident I can get in top of again.
My face and neck look much better though with the extra weight. So I thinking, do I stay overweight to save my face or lose the weight for a better figure.
I'm postmenopausal so I know my skin will never bounce back. A
size 12-14= nice figure, saggy face/size 16=chubby,better face
If it was all going down, what would you save😱😁

This is my dilemma.
Currently a size 14 and look about 15 years younger than my actual age.

If I lose the couple of stone I want to to be w size 10 again I know it’ll age me

Mosaic123 · 19/10/2021 21:47

Figure is more important as you are healthier. For face add makeup.

Postdatedpandemic · 19/10/2021 21:49

I'd go for a BMI of 25ish and save your heart and internal organs.
If people listened to me I'd be out of a job.

Face without a doubt.

Be healthy.
Just think of it like this: a heart attack or stroke will make your face look worse!

Rummikub · 19/10/2021 22:10

Face

Shopgirl1 · 19/10/2021 22:19

I think you can be a healthy weight and not look gaunt in your face. My BMI is 22 and my face is fine - im post menopausal also. Drink water, eat fruit and veg, limit processed rubbish with added sugar, exercise.

Shopgirl1 · 19/10/2021 22:20

Long term being a healthy BMI is so much better to avoid strain on your heart.

WhatMattersMost · 19/10/2021 22:23

It amazes me that some people will choose to risk curtailing their lives in order to look better.

Narutocrazyfox · 19/10/2021 22:25

A friend of mine said to me recently 'as you get older, you have a choice to make.... Your face, or your arse. You can't have both'.

Wise words indeed!

OakPine · 19/10/2021 22:47

Can't imagine any man deciding to put weight on so that they have less wrinkles.

Pieceofpurplesky · 19/10/2021 23:44

Drink loads of water. I am obese so can't comment on weight but even at my slimmest I looked younger - I don't drink tea/coffee/caffeine only water (and occasionally wine or g and t). I never wear make up other than a bb cream.

MoltonSilver · 19/10/2021 23:49

No one ever died of turkey neck.

blisstwins · 20/10/2021 00:13

Health+ filler if needed

StrongSunglasses · 20/10/2021 00:18

Go for figure, it’s cheaper to re-jooj the face (profhilo etc)

Namechangeforone · 20/10/2021 00:21

Health or vanity. Hm tough choice

Pea22ches · 20/10/2021 00:31

How tall are you OP?

genericuserneeded · 20/10/2021 01:08

I would go for a healthy body. Your face is still healthy, you just have natural volume loss which is normal. Filler is worth a try

Strokethefurrywall · 20/10/2021 01:14

Err a healthy body every time. Can’t believe this is even a question.

NiceGerbil · 20/10/2021 01:19

Hey yes the eternal face or arse question!

Just thought. There must be a middle ground. Where you body is healthy but has a bit of meat to it. And your face is plumped out a bit...?

I've just carried on as usual.

Tbf I never had visible cheekbones and wanted them so badly. So at this point (47) I'm still excited to finally know where blusher goes! Which baffled me 80s make up application things in mizz etc!

Mercurial123 · 20/10/2021 05:40

Body every time. I had cancer at a young age so taking care of myself physically is important. I've just turned 50 and feel fine with the way my face is ageing. I find most people look their age. Nobody looks 15 years younger.

Thecatsbutler · 20/10/2021 06:42

I look my age. I don't want to look younger, just rather not look any older either🤨 I gained weight due to health issues, but have gotten back to my old self again ( more rather than less obviously 😊)My diet is good, I just love food and tend to overeat. I don't smoke or drink alcohol. I get plenty of fresh air out walking. Having no major health problems now and consider myself healthy. Menopause definitely changed my skin though, amongst other things. Thanks everyone for your input Flowers

It depends on your BMI really. Your heart and lungs are what you really need going forward.
