Long lasting perfume

TunnelOfGoats · 17/10/2021 19:23

I've tried lots of different perfumes over the years and none of them seem to last. I got a flowerbomb a few months ago, and it is lovely when you spray it, but literally after minutes it seems to have worn off. Does anyone have any recommendations for long lasting floral based fragrances?

Jo malone

Accidentgirlfriend · 17/10/2021 19:35

Moschino perfumes last for hours and so does ck eternity IMO.
I put some of the black moschino on this morning and I can still smell it on me now and the pink one is the same .

Cantstopthewaves · 17/10/2021 19:37

Mulger perfume.

I'd also recommend Lancome. Especially 'miracle'.

LookdeepintotheParka · 17/10/2021 19:55

I find Lancome La Vie est Belle is incredibly long lasting as are lots of the Chanel fragrances. I only need one spray of Coco which lasts me all day! Anything with Amber or musk notes seems to last better.

Fragrantica website is a good place to look for reviews on longevity Smile

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 17/10/2021 20:07

As above but also
Floral Street, Liz Earle & Guerlain perfumes have a very long last

HomeSliceKnowsBest · 17/10/2021 21:08

Anything from Lush. They're the only ones which last on me.

Roseyleaf · 17/10/2021 21:30

Two weeks ago in Harvey Nicks I sprayed a tester of Baccarat Rouge 540 extrait on my wrist. I could still smell it on my wrist the following day after showering.
This morning I could still smell it on my jacket sleeve.

Penhalighon’s Halfeti perfume

You do need to have perfume rather than toilet water as my nanna used to call it!
Original Stella by Stella McCartney
Chanel Chance

Also-don’t forget that after a while you won’t smell it on yourself but others will

MissBattleaxe · 19/10/2021 12:29

Perfume blogger here! Perfume lasts longer on moisturised skin, so all those body lotions you get in gift sets are actually very useful. I also spray collars, sleeves and scarves as fragrances last longer there. I always avoid rubbing wrists together as that doesn't seem to do anything. Sometimes if a fragrance really suits you, you stop being able to smell it, even though others can.

Aside from aiming for eau de parfum strength, it's a matter of trial and error. For example I once tried Cartier Eau des Delices and it disappeared almost immediately, but on forums, people were reporting 12 hour longevity. Keep trying and remember that a citrus won't hang around as long as a patchouoli or warm amber.

Branleuse · 19/10/2021 13:14

i dont know about florals, but the perfumes ive got that I can still smell hours later or even days later on a scarf are vivienne westwood boudoir and Tom Ford Santal Blush. Ive got another tom ford vanille fatale that lasts ages too, so maybe look at other Tom ford ones. They do have some lovely florals.
If you go on fragrantica you can search up perfumes you like and what other perfumes that others who liked that one, also like, and they do also rate perfumes for stuff like longevity. Its worth having a look on that site, and also you can often buy samples of perfumes on ebay or even on main sites, so you can test out.

Whoever mentioned Jo malone above - are you kidding? They dont last at all on me

brogueish · 19/10/2021 17:07

Whatever you really don't like is guaranteed to last and last and last.

Moonface123 · 19/10/2021 17:23

Giorgio Beverley Hills, l have a lot of perfume, this one outlasts them all.

Alien lasts forever

SummaLuvin · 19/10/2021 17:48

I have only tried Eau Duelle by diptyque, but I found that lasted amazing.

prawncrackergirl · 19/10/2021 19:23

I have Chanel Chance eau de tendre perfume (light pink version in the classic round Chanel Chance bottle).

I put some on first thing in the morning, and get comments on it often, from colleagues as well as random shop staff etc, even at the end of the day.

I've got about a quarter of the large bottle left, which I got for Christmas. Not bad!

MissBattleaxe · 19/10/2021 19:28

I agree about Jo Malone. They are only cologne strength and they don't linger on me at all. The only one that really lasted on me was Pomegranate Noir and I didn't like it. @brogueish is right! It's sod's law.

BrilloPaddy · 19/10/2021 19:32

La vie est belle is really long lasting without being overpowering.

My favourite though is Joy by Dior and I can never smell that on myself after an hour or so. It's the only perfume I've ever had that you need to take the bottle out and about with you.

MissBattleaxe · 19/10/2021 19:37

@BrilloPaddy La Vie est Belle is indeed very long lasting but I would debate the overpowering bit. That stuff is LOUD!

My DS wears this - I can still smell it in his clothes after they have been washed!! It's beautiful.. but SO expensive
Geamhradh · 19/10/2021 19:51

Anything with oud (my perfume "bring me a bucket" note) is guaranteed to still be clogging your nostrils with its ripe nappy overtone about a fortnight later. At dd's 18th a fortnight ago, the place had candles all around the garden and lovely it was too. Oud scented candles. I swear to god it was in my nostrils for days.

I got my autumn-winters out yesterday and most of those are long lasting by virtue of the notes being spicy rather than light and citrussy. EdP will last longer than EdT and Jo Malone will last as long as a gnat's piss. Grin (I bet the oud one lasts longer than the nuclear waste buried underground though, but I'm not going near it to test)

I second this, I have it and it lasts and smells incredible. Worth the money.

Also Atkinson perfermes are beautiful and last

BowlofNothing · 19/10/2021 20:16

Laura Mercier vanilla and ambre vanilla last 7/8 hours on me. Mugler perfumes are renowned for their staying power, particularly Alien and Angel. Baccarat Rouge 540, as mentioned before is amazing for longevity but very expensive! If you want a dupe for this Zara Red Temptation is spot on and also lasts 7/8 hours, as do most of the Zara fragrances.

GCAcademic · 19/10/2021 20:21

Penhalighon’s Halfeti perfume

Weirdly it’s the only Penhaligons perfume that does last. I bought their two scent libraries recently and everything except Halfeti disappeared within a couple of hours.

TunnelOfGoats · 19/10/2021 20:32

Thank you all for the suggestions so far! Definitely justifies a shopping trip to test some
