I’m hoping I’ve been here long enough to be allowed to start the new thread. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone’s outfits as we move into my favourite fashion season.

Sorry not saying where I live on here, but the charity shop is in a very affluent town. I moved here from a much more working class area and I didn’t bother to look in the charity shop for years, as I assumed it was just bobbled old Next and Primark, like the one where I grew up - so imagine my shock when I first went in! To be fair I got a bit over-excited and made some mistakes so now I have to be much more discerning and ask myself if I would still like the item if it was a full priced shop and whether it actually fits in with my lifestyle & will get worn.

@EllaPaella my Asda top was a lockdown purchase so I doubt they still have it.Your Cos dress is gorgeous and such a bargain.Honestly @KiteflyingKat you do so well from charity shops.The ones near me are so expensive it isn't worth it.

Wearing brand new straight out of the box hush Agnes jeans. I had to try on all my black jeans to make sure they are different enough from those. They are ( can fit chunky boots under leg). So soft, I love Hush denim. In case it’s of interest I ordered 8 and 10 as reviews on sizing were mixed but the 8 is a perfect fit on me. I also ordered a pair of chunky boots from Boden ( I’ve had about 10 pairs of different makes, all returned) and I love them! But trying to decide if I’d get enough wear. What do people think about their longevity as a trend? Although I’m not slavish to fashion I do take heed.

@Chrispackhamspoodle Yes our charity shops are also expensive - no £1 rail here Yesterday I picked up and put back a cashmere jumper - 100% cashmere but it was only M&S and pretty bobbled and they wanted £26 for it! Although I don’t buy to sell on, I always have in the back of my mind what I could get for it on Vinted if I end up not liking or wearing it.

Thanks @Sooverthemill and I’m loving the boots. I think the flat chunky trend will be around a while as it’s so practical and comfy! However I would avoid anything Uber-chunky as that’s more likely to date (and I don’t like the super chunky styles anyway)

Great red dress and charity shop finds @KiteflyingKat. We've good charity shops near us and most of my clothes come from there. I'm trying out this dress today to decide whether to keep it or whether it's too short for work. Dress sandwich.

@KiteflyingKat, sorry, i didn’t really want you to reveal your location! But I was thinking it must be somewhere that has higher end shops nearby. High end where I am is H&M (we have an old navy but even the Gap outlet closed down!). The second hand place (not charity) used to get Banana Republic outlet stuff but haven’t seen any for a while.

I’m so jealous of everyone who lives near decent charity shops. I definitely don’t!

I ordered the Boden dress last night. They were doing 25% off and I complained about the top that shrunk after one wash and they refunded in full!

Great dress @AnnieSnap, you look so glam. In the office again today - so central Edinburgh in the pissing rain, lol. Boots probably aren’t great for cobbles (which the town is full of!) but I got these from Shuh in the sale and love them - sometimes you have to suffer for your art! Leather coat from Wolf and Badger (LBD underneath but you can’t really see it).

@Sooverthemill how is the sizing. Is the 8 snug or just nice.

@Softpebbles they are perfect, exactly my size. I can't really feel that I have them on. Genuinely would suggest giving them a go. They are as good as my original hush boyfriend jeans which I love . Soft, comfy, brilliant

@Softpebbles how do you find that particular pair of DMs? I'm really tempted, but have skinny legs and worry they'll look ridiculous on me
