Models adopting unrealistic, weird position to sell us clothes! 😮

It’s been a thing for years, but seriously? Why do retailers think this helps to sell clothes. What is the thing with adult women pulling at their clothes like an uncertain 3-year-old? Boden used to be one of the worst, but recently, their models seem to be standing normally! Here are a couple from Hush’s latest collection. Can others beat these?

At least with M&S the next pictures are all really useful.

I think there is more of recently, definitely been a few websites where I haven't been able to see enough to decide to buy.

I have been silently raging about this for a long time. Most of the time when I’m browsing the ‘new arrivals’ I lose patience and leave, before I get to item 4 on the page.

No lie, there is one that still triggers me about 6 months later, the model looks like she got caught performing Mr Bean’s Bombastic.

This has been my big bear for a long time with Zara!

I always see people wearing nice clothes and "oh where's that from?" Zara. Go into Zara, nothing I like. Maybe all the good stuff is online? wtf? I can't actually SEE what they're selling online. The model poses are awful. Just stand there and look attractive, FGS. It's not hard!

I also get annoyed with the Instagrammers who do that pidgeon toed pose. Wtf, you all look like a toddler that needs a wee!

It is funny but also really frustrating, and must lead to more returns which isn’t great. Someone on here said it’s deliberate as x% proportion of people won’t bother to return. Which then leads to all the decluttering threads. I can’t understand why full measurements are not given for a garment too, you get more out of eBay sellers.

When l was looking for a new swimming cossie recently, found a pic of a woman wearing a cossie on a building site! Incomplete hotel perhaps? 😂.

It pisses me off so much. How much time do they think I have to work out the basic essentials I need to know about what I am buying.

I can't think where I was looking at recently where they were modeling te dresses for sale, worn beneath a coat. I couldn't even see if the dress had sleeves or not. Madness!

No image to hand, but the ones that annoy me are those where the clothed models are positioned with their legs wide open (as if preparing for a gynaecological procedure). Never seen anyone sitting like that IRL.

I'm pregnant, need the loo and trying to laugh silently. This is not going to end well.

On a family day out with my sister during the summer, my 12 year old dd and 13 yr old neice laughingly posed for every single photo as a 'Zara model'. needless to say we have a collection of hilarious photos. My sister and I found it extremely funny (and cute!) that they are old enough to look at the Zara website for clothes - and mature enough to know that the posing is just pure sillyness
