And finally, the most ridiculous 'royal' of them all??? 'Pretender' to a 'self proclaimed' ex king???

In that case, I'm declaring myself Grand Duchess of Venice, official tiara being the Spencer tiara (of course), Megan's engagement ring (with Max's for special occasions as it's a bit more blingy) with Grace Kelly's wedding dress (for show, probably wouldn't get it past my knees) and his royal hotness in the airing cupboard for high days and holidays.

Her silvery evening dress is sublime and she looks gorgeous.
Sorry, but in contrast, I really dislike the wedding dress and train. Not helped by the weird photo dimensions where the guests look normal size and the bride and groom look like Alice in Wonderland drink me tiny.

She looks like she's been laced into that evening dress a la Scarlett O'Hara! I'm surprised she can breathe in it

As to her tiara choice . All I would do with it is break it down for the diamonds .....

Mette-Marit and HH on a tour of a regional county of Norway. Her outfit is a tad early Emmerdale for my taste although great to see her looking so well.

Love the colour of Max's top and earrings but the two halves of her outfit don't really go together, do they?

Goodness frugal, this is the first I've heard of CP Leka Zogu II. He looks astonishingly tall. I've just read that he was born in South Africa but that in order to maintain his birthright, the SA government declared the maternity ward where he was born Albanian soil for 24 hours!

That seems utterly bonkers for a birthright that never really existed in the first place!

@hopeishere they haven’t been crystal clear about the arrangement but it seems that Chaumet allowed the bride to borrow a tiara from their own collection. Like most jewellery houses with a historic pedigree, they often buy back signature pieces if they are sold by their owners. So some of the ones she was offered are historic tiaras that used to be owned by other families but now reacquired by Chaumet. Some in the photo were brand new, however. So she possibly might have bought the hairnet one she she wore, as it’s apparently a new design? I think that’s less likely however, as I don’t think they are super-wealthy.

It looks much nicer with her evening hairdo, I think.

The tiara at the SPb wedding of George Romanov and Rebecca Bettarini is much more of a kokoshnik than any of the other tiara options. It's a traditional Russian style headdress.

(Eugenie's tiara was a kokoshnik too.)

@mathsanxiety if you hunt out some of the pictures of the wedding, you can see that some of the guests - and possibly the bride’s young attendants? - were wearing proper kokoshniks made of fabric and trimmed with jewels. I was fascinated to see them still being worn!

They are heavily identified with Russian culture. Traditional dance troupes sometimes include them as part of their costumes.

It's interesting that the wedding took place in St Isaac's Cathedral - it remains a museum (obv since the Revolution), with services conducted only on holy days and special occasions.

That tiara was too delicate for her dress. She needed a heavier one imho. That tiara would look beautiful with Audrey Hepburn' amy fair lady dress for instance. A lace, empire line.

The worst thing about it is that the bride was offered a whole selection of Chaumet archive tiaras (there was a picture of her in a French magazine looking at them all laid out for her) and she chose that one over the gorgeous Bourbon-Parma tiara they also hold in their archives. I cry.

I hope Charlene has recovered from whatever it was. It's a long time to be away from the wee ones. Sharon Stone doesn't seem to age, she's lookin' good. Maybe she's just on holiday in Monaco and Albert is being hospitable and showing her the sights.
