Help! Which Chelsea boots shall I send back?

I already have black dr martens so I guess I bought these Chelsea boots to wear for work in very cold winter days and also for evenings and shopping trips when you want to look casual but with a hint of smart.

I love both - but feel silly keeping both as they're very similar. The one with brown stripe I feel adds a more casual vibe - but I like the tall length of the dune ones I think maybe they're more on trend?

Which do you prefer?

Number 1 (dune)

I would keep the Dune / 1
They are higher up the ankle and you are tall so they will suit you better when you wear them with dresses/skirts

Number 2 are a bit meh (to me)

I think the longer ones are a bit BovverBoot, but the soles on the second pair are weird with that contrast colour on them

I think you should keep 1. You've said they sit better than 2 which are cut right on your ankle, that they feel smarter (and you want to wear them for work and trips out "with a hint of smart") and that although they're more expensive than 2 you feel more drawn to them.

Keep 2! Likely to last longer style wise, unlike the chunky wellies.

Keep 1. I've had great shoes from Dune and they last well. I prefer the look of them over 2, the additional colour on 2 is a bit fussy.

Exactly! Which has been the trend for 2+ years.

If OP wants to look current, boots #1 are the way to go.

If OP wants to look nondescript or is going for a more classic but less distinctive look, boots #2.

I think 2, they will go with almost everything and are not as clumpy as 1. I do like both but I know 1 would look awful on me as I have short skinny legs.

The pair with the brown stripe are nicer I think.

Arrr I'm half tempted to keep both would that be ridiculous? Because something draws me to the trendy vibe of number 1 but I also want classic of no 2.

I think you just have to decide what you want, overall. I personally would go for #1, style number two will be around more or less forever so you can always buy them in two years or five years or whatever once clumpy no longer looks fresh.
