I have a 15 year old desperately wanting to be a grown up. Which do you think is the best for her? ASOS? Next? I got her the Mac last year and it went down a storm.

Snap. My 12 year old is currently parked next to me examining the options for something in a lower budget range. She does like to play with the glitzy stuff.

Who is gearing up to order the JL advent calendar on Monday?!!

@DarlingCoffee - I am! Was waiting for Selfridges to decide but I have some John Lewis vouchers and think it looks really good this year Happy now I've decided it's been difficult this year!

I was all ready to buy the NAP calendar. I was set by the computer a few days ago when there was the rumour it was out then. Since then I've gone off it. And I actually think I've gone off all of them. I may buy the JL calendar if it is reduced. And I have 70 in Boots advantage cards, so I may be tempted by their offerings. But I think I may go for a beauty bag instead and spend the rest sensibly on The Ordinary products that will do the job.

How much is it @DarlingCoffee?

The Dior calendar looks amazing (for the packaging). So festively glam

@JasonMomoasgirlfriend it’s £159 gulp but it will be my first beauty advent calendar and I lusted after it last year and didn’t buy so this year I’m going for it!

£160 for JL. Nope too much for me to justify really.
I love all the very expensive luxury ones but I just think I'm being suckered in to it.

@MoniqueFalck I think the MAC offering this year is really good. I'm very tempted by it and would have been over the moon to receive it at 15!!!

@Giftwithpurchase Everything did get used. goodness knows how since we were in lockdown. I think she just practiced in the mirror. Last year i had a special offer to bring it down under a hundred. I might just go for it though. It will end up being her main present. She just wants cash for the sales!

@MoniqueFalck it might be worth hanging on and seeing if MAC do another promo - especially around the Black Friday sales. Or you might be able to buy it with money off from John Lewis or similar.. either way it's brilliant present for a teen

I'm feeling a bit like this. I was also all geared up to order NAP on the original release date, but now I've waited so long I feel like the enthusiasm has gone. I do want to get another calendar though, so will have to think about it a bit more.

Seems a bit over priced, particularly given the value but they may be a little more realistic about actual value than some of the others. €295 with a value of €695 so about €50 dearer than CB and similar.

Only 5 full size items, with the rest deluxe size. I'm never quite sure what they mean by deluxe. Is it travel size or bigger/smaller?

I guess I need to make a rapid decision on whether to get CB or HoF. Definitely can't justify both.

To be honest, last year with 3 calendars, one of which was mainly full size, plus the Elemis offer from QVC, it was all a bit much. I think I want to limit it to one this year. But if I get the HoF one, I could be tempted by M&S too as both of those have smaller sizes so would probably be equivalent to CB in terms of quantity of product iykwim.

I have already bought the F&M one as I couldn't resist. Paid for it ages ago.

I wanted NAP but I might just get this one instead - although not sure of the price. I like serums and oils and Harrods is so much more beautiful than NAP

@Piccalino3, according to the beauty advent calendar site Harrods will be £250. I think it loooks really good (both contents and box!). At that price it’s between Harrods and CB for me.

Thought CB was released on the 12th (So a week on Tuesday?)

I also have F&M but will definitely be getting another! I buy Fortnums every year but don't count it as it comes out so early

Also, it contains a few non beauty items (room sprays etc) so I think another is definitely justified
