I'm going to get M&S, a couple of the products that I use regularly add up to more than the cost of the calendar so it makes sense. As mentioned before I have become somewhat scruffy of knicker in anticipation of the required calendar spend so the £30 doesn't put me off.

chloechloe · 26/09/2021 21:57

@cookingisoverrated

Lumene is currently 25% off at FeelUnique....
Thank you! I’ve just ordered it. I’d rather have done money off I think than a GWP given that I have so many items to use up.

I’ve set myself a target of using up 25 products to justify the ACs I’ve bought! Should be doable by using up all my sample and travel sized stuff!

The Eyeko mascara is quite good.
Though still not decided which Advent calendar I want.
I do also like the look of The Cowshed one as their products are lovely

I'm going to get the M&S calendar. I'm quite happy to have several familiar products as they're mostly things I like. The sleep cream is lovely. I'll pass the eyeliner pen onto a work colleague.
I started using the Eyeko mascara after 1st getting it in a calendar and have continued to buy it. A mini version is useful to keep at my caravan.
Looking forward to the M&S opening thread as that's an integral part of the treat for me.

IToldYouIWasFreaky · 27/09/2021 11:28

I'm leaning further towards getting the M&S one now, as I've realised that two of the haircare products are Curly Girl friendly so it's only the Philip Kingsley ones I won't use. I'm not feeling desperately excited by it, but it does just feel like too good value to pass by!

Has anyone seen these Stocking Filler boxes that Next are doing? The contents do look tiny but it'd be a really good way to try out products, and they would make a nice little gift.

Anon778833 · 27/09/2021 13:37

I’m hoping to get the Liberty one because last time I bought it I used all the products inside, a lot of them were full size and they lasted me a whole year. It’s expensive though but well worth the money.

I like the Charlotte Tilbury one but you don’t save money buying it so it seems pointless.

Anon778833 · 27/09/2021 13:38

I have bought the M&S one nearly every year it’s been going. I agree the sleep cream is amazing.

SuperStarRose · 27/09/2021 14:55

I'm going to get the M&S one too this year I think.

I've already refilled my JL AC from last year with various unopened beauty items from previous AC and GWP I haven't yet managed to use and will want to still use.

SuperStarRose · 27/09/2021 14:56

I've already bought the Degusta AC so looking forward to see what's in that. The DC will opening it.

SummerWhy · 27/09/2021 15:24

Unsure about M&S! I've not bought their advent calendar since 2015 but there's lots of repeats from the previous M&S beauty boxes/bags.

My heart always skins when I see the Eyeko mascara – I've never had one that works for me. I do use eyeliner but I'm not that excited to get two in one calendar and three hand creams seems unnecessary. Wonder why they never include a scented candle? Not strictly beauty but neither is pillow spray.

Saying that, there's full/large sizes of Emma Hardie cleansing balm, Aveda Botanical Repair, Prai 24hr gold cream and the Pure day cream which are all excellent, so it's worth the £40 for those. Just wanted something more exciting!

SummerWhy · 27/09/2021 15:24

@lindyloo57 That Stila eyeliner wouldn't even twist up for me! Thought about contacting M&S but felt a bit silly. The Pixi Endless Silky Eye Pen is great though.

lindyloo57 · 27/09/2021 17:09

@SummerWhy I have pixi eye pencil which i think I got in the m& s calendar, but thats just as bad on me as the stilla one.

Window1 · 27/09/2021 17:45

Never bought an M and S one but definitely going for it this year.

chloechloe · 27/09/2021 18:39

I never see the point of those like CT where you don’t make much saving - you may as well just buy the products you like. It tends to be the single brand ACs that are like that.
AprilLady · 27/09/2021 19:29

Really Ree has Selfridges calendar details:

reallyree.com/selfridges-beauty-advent-calendar/

Again a mix of good stuff and the usual suspects for DoDs: AB cream, REN tonic etc.

A good one for perfume fans though. If the Le Labo perfume had been anything other than Santal 33 it would be a yes for me. As it is, not sure.

FredaFox · 27/09/2021 19:48

I'm hoping I'll drop lucky with Selfridges, will get M&S too
That's me done then, already got asos 😂
Just need to sort my mum, got her the bonne maman but would like something special too for her

YorkshireGirl35 · 27/09/2021 20:26

I’ve been lurking on these threads trying to decide which advent to go for. However I’ve felt a bit disappointed with most of the offerings so kept talking myself out of them. Ive had some really good GWP’s from Cult Beauty this year so couldn’t justify a premium one and then M&S is so samey.
Anyway I went to Costco today and purchased a wine advent calendar instead so decision made Grin

SuperStarRose · 27/09/2021 20:37

I really liked pretty much everything in the Boots No 7 AC last year.

They're bringing out 2 this year so it'll be interesting to see how they compare.

Jooox · 27/09/2021 21:35

Does anyone know if the body shop calendars went in the sales last year?

I’m fearful of spending more than I had planned (M&S let down) and it then reducing.

DrRamsesEmerson · 27/09/2021 21:41

I want a wine one! But I've got Degustabox coming, so I think that'll have to do. I am trying hard to drink a bit less...

wansku · 27/09/2021 21:47

@Jooox I had body shop calendar last year. They sold out before any reductions in price.

Jooox · 27/09/2021 22:31

Thank you @wansku (Grin at your name)

jay55 · 28/09/2021 05:58

Selfridges would be almost all drawers of disappointment for me. Can't believe NARS still have any Laguna left given the number of times it's been given away at spaceNK.

Luvacuppatea · 28/09/2021 06:25

I rather like the look of the Harrods one. Seems they might have upper their game a bit as there’s been a bit of criticism in the past of the cost v product size ratio. Quite a few full sizes this year and some products I’d actually like to try. BUT, I have already committed to F&M, plus the Harrods one lacks a nice fragrance, just has the ubiquitous Floral Street sampler set which is all-too-common these days and a ‘drawer of disappointment’ for me. Also don’t know how much it’s going to cost yet. Obviously it’s going to be £££

AprilLady · 28/09/2021 07:11

@Luvacuppatea, I agree the Harrods one looks really good, and much better than their previous ones. If it was the same price as N-a-P, Liberty etc it would probably be my first choice this year. But, like you, I expect it will be significantly more expensive. Annoying that they have announced contents but not price.
