Dyptique October 13th
I’ve had one before and it was really lovely, but not a fab value one at £350 ...although not worked out cost overall.

Fluffypinkpoppet · 16/09/2021 17:53

Ooh sorry that was last years! Doh

BakeOffRewatch · 16/09/2021 17:55

Found the Chantecaille product list and sizes, has a sign up link for the drop
chantecaille.com/products/advent-calendar-2021

I love the brand but the eyeshadow, lip and blush colours wouldn’t suit me. 5 full size products in it though so for £365 including donation seems alright and in line with brand.

Received my h and b calendar - anyone else got a separate square box with the number 7 printed on it? This was just loose in the big cardboard box and I almost threw it away!

No? But then when mine arrived it was hanging out the packaging. So if there was anything separate it would have no doubt fallen out in the couriers van.
ajandjjmum · 16/09/2021 19:39

The H & B outer box is a rubbish size for the calendar. Arrived here bashed and battered.

turboface · 16/09/2021 19:50

I didn't get any separate box with my H&B calendar. It looked like this and possible box could have dropped off from the hole.

My box arrived identical!!
IToldYouIWasFreaky · 16/09/2021 20:10

Nothing extra with my H&B...I am just grateful that it arrived unbattered and in one piece!

I’ve been following this thread thinking I’m not going to buy anything, but I think I’m going to give in to the John Lewis one, I’ve loads of vouchers and that feels like a great thing to treat myself with. Does anyone know if it sells out quickly?

AnnieSnap · 16/09/2021 21:03

I’m pretty much guaranteed several drawers of disappointment. I have sensitive eyes, so just use my Ren Evercalm eye cream, a little concealer and eye shadow. Consequently, I wouldn’t be using any of the eye products. I am tempted to buy 12 products of my own choice for 12 days of Christmas. It would feel like a lovely Christmas treat and I know I will like and use everything 🙂

stripedbananas · 16/09/2021 21:38

I bought the John Lewis beauty advent last year which for me was extravagant but had some wonderful products that I've been using all year and haven't had to buy a single other beauty item since.

Normally I get M&S but I was so impressed with JL it'll be a difficult choice this year. Boots will have items I'll use too so I'll see what they all have.

Yes I'm sure it did last year but they restocked it which is when it bought it in Dec or late November. I'd already bought the Boots No7 one but the JL one just screamed out at me. I'd been on the fence with Cult Beauty and Space NK with vouchers and stuff. Then they both sold out and I just went f@ck it treat yourself because the JL items were what I really wanted to try.

If I had the money I would buy them all Grin sadly I have to really think about the items and cost

CountryCob · 17/09/2021 07:21

It is an expensive time of year @stripedbananas and only worth it if doesn’t cause stress. I am on the fence and like the rest of us curious about M&S, but thought I would share a drawers of dissatisfaction moment. Trying to use of products to justify another calendar and because I haven’t had a proper beauty session since before the family summer holiday I took the chance as DH away to use up stuff - out came a murad facial exfoliator which was great, can’t remember the calendar, lace sheet mask from ASOS and I have a H&B facial scrub with coffee grounds thought would use on my body. Imagine my surprise when in my completely white bathroom the oil and coffee ground mixture came out like a baby’s first poop. I cannot believe this product got past testing and is sold in the shops. So oily and gritty and I think it might have blocked the drains, needed to do a big bathroom clean up afterwards. Apricot scrub from the 90s has smaller less abrasive grains. What were they thinking????

If anyone is looking for a foodie advent calendar, I've just had an email from The Spicery , who are doing 12 Curries of Christmas, with 25% off at the moment. I've given subscriptions to them before, they're great.

Cocopogo · 17/09/2021 07:49

Just had the Liberty one pop up on fb and came on here to see if there was an info on other calendars yet and it seems I’ve got some catching up to do!

Housewife2010 · 17/09/2021 08:17

@CountryCob I tried s Frank coffee body scrub from a beauty box once. Never again. I knew it was a coffee scrub but somehow I'd not actually thought of what it would be like. I tried it in the bath and it was so messy and horrible. The bathwater was brown and gritty. After rubbing it on one limb it went straight in the bin and I headed straight for the shower. We always put our coffee grounds on the garden so they don't block the drains, so I'm not sure how sensible the coffee scrub idea is.

Oh this looks fab, I was going to get me and DP the Degustabox one to share but I'm tempted by this now!

MorrisZapp · 17/09/2021 08:22

My neice used a bag of coffee grounds to exfoliate her body after seeing it on tiktok. My sister ended up with an unusable bathroom and a two hundred quid plumbing bill. And a weird wet coffee smell for days.

TheWeeDonkeyFella · 17/09/2021 08:28

@countrycob - ah yes, the coffee scrub thing! Many of us had similar experiences last year. The mess is unbelievable (I think one posters husband thought she'd had an 'accident' in the bathroom iirc), but it left a funny layer on the skin too. Although some did like it too.

Giftwithpurchase · 17/09/2021 08:51

Morning all - just saw an ad that penhaligons are doing a 'portrait match' game - you get seven goes to win a full size Portraits perfume and a scarf - have to spend £135 I think.. I like how they put a funny twist on their gifts 😀

Giftwithpurchase · 17/09/2021 08:52

Sorry wrong thread 🤦‍♀️
