Will I look silly in DMs?

On a whim, I bought a pair of "Docs" on eBay. Used, but in excellent condition. A good price, and purple!

I'd always fancied a pair but never gotten around to it. Now I'm wondering if I've made a mistake.

I have biggish feet (7), am 52 and look every minute of it; I've aged terribly in the past few years. Also not so pretty, and a bit chubby.

Will I look like an old lady trying to be cool? Will my feet look enormous? Should I care?

(Have 3 daughters with the same size of feet, so they won't be wasted!)

DMs are great, it doesn't matter what age you are. I'm mid 40s, got back into wearing them last year - also got a bargain 2nd hand pair. I feel like a badass when I'm wearing them.

I'm nearly 40 and I wear them.ive never had confidence to wear dresses but since I bought them I wear them with midi dresses and leather jackets or even with jeans most days.

Hmmm, much as I think we should wear what we want, I understand your qualms. I had always fancied some Docs too. Bought some a year ago (age 48). I've basically given them to dd16, though In theory we're sharing them. Docs are cool, but less so on me apparently. It's not that I care what other people think. It's that I just don't think they suit me.

I suspect you will look awesome! If not, who cares if you like them and they feel good to wear!

I've owned them since I was 15. I wear them with dresses, jeans, skirts. They're so comfy. I'm a size 8 and they don't look massive

@lockdownalli that's why I'm glad I bought gently used ones... they'll hopefully be a bit softened already.
