Thanks @faustina! I would want it quite long, but just not stupidly so.
Did you size down?
I see they have it on John Lewis, so might order it from there to try. Always quicker and easier delivery & returns as I have a Waitrose nearby I can pick up from.

faustina · 19/09/2021 16:12

@ScottishMouse - I didn't size down for toast - mine is an 8, and I got it from JL too. I think I might have tried the 6 if I'd been at a toast shop but JL don't do 6.

ScottishMouse · 19/09/2021 16:15

Thanks @faustina! Might stick with a 10 so.

Stoic123 · 19/09/2021 16:49

Tried on the denim wrap skirt - it was a lovely weight/material but didn't look special enough on me. Think could be lovely for someone else.

I did end up walking away with the needlecord shirt dress in Sycamore. Am going to try uploading photo- I'm size 14 normally and this is a 10.

AmethystMoonShine · 19/09/2021 17:13

That’s lovely on you @Stoic123. Is it more green or grey in real life? Also how tall are you? Just wondering where it would finish on me? I’m 5’6”

ScottishMouse · 19/09/2021 17:15

Oh that is lovely on you @Stoic123!

Stoic123 · 19/09/2021 17:25

@AmethystMoonShine- it is a definite green- just the lighting. It is a slightly softer shade in daylight than appears in website photos. I'm 5'7".

@ScottishMouse- thank you!

Stoic123 · 19/09/2021 17:49

Also tried on -

Check Cotton Tie Dress - lovely and interesting shape. Very Toast. Really appealing but not sure I would get enough use for it to be worth me paying full price. I'll definitely keep eye out for it in a future sale.

Bud Check Cotton Dress - great colours but didn't look that fantastic on me. Online pictures are fair representation.

Size down - probably 2 sizes.

faustina · 19/09/2021 17:54

@Stoic123 - that is so nice on you!

Countmeout · 19/09/2021 18:17

That’s lovely indeed @Stoic123. Is it very swingy at the back?
I like @ScottishMouse would to know if anyone has got the Gabis in the concrete cord. What length are they?

AmethystMoonShine · 19/09/2021 18:25

Thank you @Stoic123 I was hoping for more green than grey. Smile

ilovecherries · 19/09/2021 19:25

After a very circumspect period, I’ve cracked and ordered the workwear dress and the concrete trousers. We are still on our road trip till the end of October, but we are having a few days at home next week as we pass. Intention is to swap over to warmer clothes, wash the sleeping bags, cut the grass, pick up Toast parcels 🤦‍♀️ etc before the next phase. I already have the brown slate ones from last year and did wear them loads.

Stoic123 · 19/09/2021 19:43

@Countmeout- yes, it is pretty swingy but not too billowy so still nice contrast with full sleeves....hope that makes sense!

Laska2Meryls · 20/09/2021 08:57

Im still on holiday so haven't had my sake stuff yet ..
But really like this new dress www.toa.st/products/check-cotton-tie-neck-dress-slate-aurora-red
Sadly I don't think it would do anything for me as I tried last year's version and because of my norkage it made me look like a ship in full sail ...

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 20/09/2021 10:23

@Stoic123 really liking that needlecord shirt dress on you.
I wore the denim wrap skirt yesterday without moving the buttons but even after a large lunch it still felt too loose. So today I have decided to sew on the spare buttons and leave the originals on to give me some options. I have now got it to a really nice size and, @ScottishMouse , with some judicious placing on the waistband, managed to keep the seam lined up across the front.
Really pleased with this now.

ScottishMouse · 20/09/2021 10:36

Yay @Theteapotsbrokenspout!

iguanadonna · 20/09/2021 12:27

My jumpers arrived. They are both things of beauty and delight.

This in green has gorgeous colours, flattering cut on broad shoulders and generous bust. The large is a tiny bit neat on me, but ok. There's no xl. I'm at least an 18. This would be perfect on 16, also probably 14 if you want generous fit, maybe a shirt under. It's a short model so only suitable with highwaisted bottom half unless you're short in the body. Would probably be v v nice on short person, because short and neat.

www.toa.st/collections/womens-knitwear/products/stripe-lace-yoke-sweater-green-multi

This is a much more generous cut in an L. Indeed a little looser towards the hip than I would ideally want, which is saying something. It's quite a lot longer than the other one, a nice length on 5'7". I only had a silk long underwear top under it, so if you're 14-16, it'd work with more under.

www.toa.st/collections/womens-knitwear/products/jacquard-wool-easy-sweater-navy-multi

Both a bit itchy on the neck. Will want some natty scarves to go under. Sadly my beautiful green flowery scarf doesn't go with either.

Does anyone have a tip for where to get soft scarves? Also good simple but well made polo shirts etc for under jumpers?

AuldFox · 20/09/2021 12:49

Excellent choices! @iguanadonna

AuldFox · 20/09/2021 12:55

I’m so tempted by the remnant yarn jumper. But I’m busty and it would make me look like an overstuffed couch. Sigh.

NoCureForLove · 20/09/2021 13:01

@iguanadonna
Is the lace yoke jumper quite blue in the body or more teal / green? Quite hard to tell from photos...
Glad you're pleased with your purchases and v helpful info!

Saurus72 · 20/09/2021 15:27

Oooh @iguanadonna what a lovely couple of purchases! The lace yoke sweater is an utter beauty, the colours are just gorgeous. I’m currently on another eBay selling push so I’m hoping to be able to fund a Toast purchase that way, think this jumper is a very likely candidate. Any chance of a picture please?

Laska2Meryls · 20/09/2021 16:31

I definitely want that navy easy wool sweater Iguanadonna please could you do me a favour and measure it pit to pit for me? Im wondering if I should get a M or L..
Am a 36e bust broad shoulders usually 14 on top.. but I have Toast jumpers in all the sizes !
Thanks😘

iguanadonna · 20/09/2021 17:49

@NoCureForLove hmm, I see what you mean, it's hard to tell the colour from the pics. I've got it hanging next to actually blue jumpers and it's definitely not blue. But not really green either - perhaps a very very blueish green. Dark teal? A colour that's hard to tell in real life too.

Everyone else - yes, will measure. Will also attempt a photo in daylight tomorrow.

NoCureForLove · 20/09/2021 18:02

Thanks Iguana!
I was hoping for bluish green not green green!

Someone was asking about the v expensive remnant jumper. I tried one on - just for the heck of it as it was in store.

It is very lovely but not for me even if I could afford it. It's very fluffy indeed, quite short and with very exaggerated big sleeves. Proportions not good on me and made me look much bigger than I am. Maybe if you were v tall and willowy or v high fashion? I was relieved it wasn't great on me so I didn't have to feel disappointed about not buying it...

NoCureForLove · 20/09/2021 18:03

Oh and it's one size. I'm a Toast 12 / 14 and it fitted me well - just looked awful!
