That’s a definite no-go for me then @NoCureForLove

NoCureForLove · 20/09/2021 21:55

£395 saved right there! You're welcome! Smile

iguanadonna · 20/09/2021 22:07

Ok the teal lace yoke is about 58-59 cm from underarm to underarm in L.

The blue snowflake is more like 65-66. At the hem it's 75. So kinda a-line, which I wish it were not.

The blue L is a slightly oversized look in on an 18, 36G. Depending on your height, an M could well be better on a 14.

Would guess the teal L for a 14 though, unless very short/flat chested. And probably even then. Much shorter and closer fit.

Laska2Meryls · 21/09/2021 08:48

Thats great, Thanks Iguanadonna.. I will probably go for the M in the easy sweater...

Has anyone taken part in Toast Circle? I’ve just seen they have this at the Shoreditch store this weekend which we’ll be close to. My understanding is you take in an item of good condition clothing (I have a lilac shirt bought in the JL sale in January - too big) and they give you a token based on the value. So if you see something straight away you can swap the token there and then, but if there isn’t anything you fancy can the token be used at any time? Presumably not store-specific? This is such a good initiative so I’d like to see if I can get something new to me. TIA.

ScottishMouse · 22/09/2021 09:10

@Saurus72, we have Toast Circle permanently in Edinburgh. It’s such a great initiative. There are two categories of items, those that would have cost over £200 new, and those that would have cost less. So you can swap for something of the same category as your item or if you find nothing, you can get a ticket to redeem another time. I have swapped a few things. Most recently I brought in a dress from about 7 years ago that I had worn once to a wedding and was in perfect condition but now too small, and got the green fan print dress from last season in exchange. It was also in pristine condition, so I call that a win.

Saurus72 · 22/09/2021 09:17

Thanks @ScottishMouse I agree, it’s a great idea - much less hassle than eBay and I also like the idea of getting a lovely treasure from a few years ago. The green fan print dress is something I regret not buying - I kept thinking the price would go down further but now I really wish I’d bought it. Will update after I’ve been this weekend.

ScottishMouse · 22/09/2021 09:26

Hope you find something lovely @Saurus72!

AuldFox · 22/09/2021 10:20

Toast circle is permanently available in the Notting hill and Mayfair branches, with the biggest selection being in Notting hill. Great initiative and I’ve made a few swaps over the years.

Has anyone bought the green needle cord shirt here. Wondering about sizing and general softness. It's about the only thing that appeals at the moment.

NoCureForLove · 22/09/2021 11:52

No, but I have just bought the lace yoke jumper and the checked bud shirt Smile

Sooverthemill · 22/09/2021 12:38

Nice but not what I want!
faustina · 22/09/2021 14:57

@Sooverthemill - I have several corduroy Toast things and they're always very soft if that helps - nothing from the current offering though, all last year

Countmeout · 22/09/2021 15:01

I have the yoke pocket skirt @Sooverthemill. It is lovely and soft, looks similar to the shirt

Sooverthemill · 22/09/2021 16:49

Thank you both. I am seriously considering it, will think further. I do love a good cord shirt!

iguanadonna · 22/09/2021 21:04

So where do we go for basics to go with and under our gorgeous toast pieces? I wanted a couple of nice funnel neck tops or turtle necks to go under woolies but stumped.

iguanadonna · 22/09/2021 21:09

Here is a picture with poor lighting that completely fails to convey how adorable the yoke jumper actually looks, here with the Felix jeans. I urgently need to get this self-photography figured out.

NoCureForLove · 22/09/2021 21:13

Nice Iguana! I've copied you and ordered one earlier today. We can be jumper twins!

Sooverthemill · 22/09/2021 22:56

@iguanadonna uniqlo

Gonegrey31 · 23/09/2021 13:54

Does anyone have the Denim workwear dress from this season? My dress has arrived but the parcel was open (the Post Office are claiming responsibility). Dress seems ok and undamaged but does not have a belt - I don't think this style has one but just wanted to check (the description online does not indicate that there is a belt) . Thanks in advance!

faustina · 23/09/2021 14:07

how annoying for you @Gonegrey31. My dress has no belt, so it hasn't been nicked!

Gonegrey31 · 23/09/2021 14:20

Thanks Faustina !
It is a lovely dress, softer denim than some of the other styles I have tried (and returned) in the past. Glad I sized down though. Will keep this.

ToastCosILoveIt · 23/09/2021 14:51

@Gonegrey31, I have it too: a good and very comfortable dress but size down and it is still roomy and comfortable (no belt included with the dress). I haven't worn it yet but see it as a perfect for going into autumn, initally without tights but with tights once the temperature really begins to drop..

I've just gone and ordered a workwear dress now ... ;-)

ToastCosILoveIt · 23/09/2021 14:59

@agnesmartin, tee hee, join the growing club. I think the workwear dress is fast becoming the 'uniform' for this group for Autumn 2021. I don't think the website quite does it justice: they have got round the perennial issue of their previous denim dresses of too much materal below the bust or waist line.
