Sling a wee across the body bag and you are good to go!

faustina · 21/10/2021 19:31

@Laska2Meryls - those navy cord Gabis were on sale last year. I have them

@ilovecherries - I saw a pic on instagram of someone wearing the navy cord jacket last night. It looked a bit shiny and not very nice - might have been how the person was wearing it though?

I absolutely love the green alpaca yoke jumper - it beautiful! I need to do jumper cull first though I think - went a bit overboard on jumpers last year and didn't wear some of them

Laska2Meryls · 21/10/2021 20:06

I must have just missed that they had
them previously Faustina !
I may think of them later on.. ...

Navy cord jacket shiny? Not a good look with the trousers then!

neveradullmoment99 · 21/10/2021 20:22

I see all the new things are up!

mizu · 21/10/2021 21:02

@mizu - that's the one I want!!

faustina · 21/10/2021 21:09

@ilovecherries - if you go on Instagram and look for toast Hampstead you'll see it

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 21/10/2021 21:19

That cord jacket does look strangely shiny.

Oh, I see what you mean. The photo has been bleached out quite a bit to lighten it, but even so that has the potential to be a bit disappointing. It’s just marginally shorter than I hoped as well, especially when I consider the model isn’t terribly tall judging by where the Gabis hit. But if you are reading this - you look fabulous, it’s not you, it’s the jacket not meeting my dreams!

neveradullmoment99 · 21/10/2021 21:27

I think its the light directly on it tbh. Im sure its not like that in real life.

faustina · 21/10/2021 21:34

I know - I thought for a bit before mentioning - it's definitely not the lovely woman! And I think perhaps if it were unbuttoned it might look better?

neveradullmoment99 · 21/10/2021 22:17

Definitely unbuttoned! I have had one of their cord jackets in the past and they have been lovely and thick cord but only a bit shiny [ I suppose like velvet can be] under a certain light, so maybe that is it.

faustina · 22/10/2021 14:17

Ukiyo pyjamas and robe. Did someone say they tried them and there was something wrong with them? My elderly friend has asked me to buy them for her so returns will be a complete nightmare if they're wrong

Not wrong just very very thin fabric. I have other toast cross hatch cotton and its not as thin as these I was looking for winter PJs. If it was hot enough for thin cotton I wouldnt want full pjs.
TempleofZoom · 22/10/2021 15:54

Shortly after I posted the aboveI went for a mooch in our charity shop and found a lovely pair of brushed cotton Landsend Pjs(£4.99) and a Toast nightshirt-linen for £2.99 !
The universe is listening in!

Laska2Meryls · 22/10/2021 15:57

I ordered the Ukiyo dhuggie, I didn't think the fabric was very thin , more mid-weight cotton, like dress fabric .. fine if you have a central heated house for winter, but wasn't flannel type fabric..

I didn't keep the dhuggie, not because didn't like it , the fabric was fine for what I wanted and pattern was fab, but it was too big and I decided to wait for the sale

faustina · 22/10/2021 16:05

@TempleofZoom - what a find!!!!

Thanks for the info about the Ukiyo - hmm. She's in a care home, so doesn't need thick, because it's very well heated, but they have managed to destroy two of the swingy wool cashmere cardigans by tumble drying them. Do you think the robe and pyjamas will be fairly bombproof? She's a million times more stylish than I am and it's horrible that she can't wear nice things

It was the pyjamas I saw, actually went to buy but didnt. I have last years cotton dhuggie which sounds like the weight you describe,I wonder if they were different fabrics as this was very thin. Will check it out next time Im in the Toast shop.

Oh gosh!
Thats a shame, I wouldnt tumble dry these, no

TempleofZoom · 22/10/2021 16:08

Sorry didnt reply.
Yes a cracking find!
A lovely simple nightshirt.
I dont recognise it but it doesnt look like its been worn.

Laska2Meryls · 22/10/2021 16:50

Ok here's another jerkin in L..Also with Oxford shirt ( which is too big and ill return for smaller) . What do you think?
Sadly it looks like I missed the boat on a larger red jerkin ..

TOAST fans looking forward to the Christmas velvet offerings
Laska2Meryls · 22/10/2021 17:03

....those that bought the jerkin, did you keep? And if so have you worn it much?

NoCureForLove · 22/10/2021 17:09

Not feeling the jerkin love. I don't like the proportions of it over longer things. But each to their own of course Smile

ScottishMouse · 22/10/2021 17:20

@Laska2Meryls, I think that jerkin looks a good size on you. I still have the medium that I bought recently but haven’t actually worn it, and am still considering returning. I’m not sure exactly what is stopping me loving it, in theory I do, but in practice I feel a bit self-conscious in it.
