I like the swingy dress on you but I think you can go at least a size down @CatherineCawood

I often order two sizes from Toast and send one back. Side by side comparison really helps.

CatherineCawood · 07/10/2021 08:24

Doh! Thats a different dress I think! 😳

CatherineCawood · 07/10/2021 08:26

I'm going past the shop today so think I'll pop in and try the 12! I've never bought anything lower than a 14 in my life!! Bizarre.

ShangPie · 07/10/2021 09:18

Hello! This may have been answered before, but I have a question about the Circle program.

I was in the Notting Hill Gate store during a recent visit to London, and the manager mentioned the Circle swap program goes ‘on tour’ to different stores each year.

I’d guess you Toasties would know best, so is this widely publicized, and is there typically a schedule for the tour?

Saurus72 · 07/10/2021 09:29

@CatherineCawood agree, denim dress looks great but too big, I would size down.

faustina · 07/10/2021 10:06

@CatherineCawood - I think it's hashtag toast being, and then scroll through - def try a smaller size just to see!

faustina · 07/10/2021 10:18

@CatherineCawood - that is the same dress. When I tried it on, I was trying to get the neck to stay open a bit too - I think that's all the person in the pic has done (if that makes sense) - she might have pulled it a bit further down at the back to achieve?

faustina · 07/10/2021 15:31

Dress button update: picked up my exchange dress and that also has the button sewn the wrong way round! Though I can at least unbutton this one. Anyway Jl have knocked a tenner off, which I think is quite fair.

I got the size 12. Said to the shop assistant that I'd never asked for a 12 in a shop before! Its much better. Will take a pic later when I'm back from dinner.

They were really nice in the Islington shop. I said that the people on the internet said that they were nice in that branch and that I would report back that they were right!

I also bought some pjs. Now officially bankrupt, although the green dress went back.

I would have never have gone in the shop if I hadn't had bought anything online as it looks too intimidating and you have to ask for the sizes etc. I usually find stuff like that a bit embarrassing! Blush

@faustina the picture I posted is the same dress interesting. Hers looks much lighter in colour. I hope mine doesn't fade as much. I did tuck the neck in which I think looks ok.

Will have a look on insta to see if I can find it.

neveradullmoment99 · 07/10/2021 20:13

@catherineCawood, how many sizes did you jump down in the dress from your normal size?

CatherineCawood · 07/10/2021 20:56

I'm normally an 18 and got a 12. I bought the pjs in large and now looking at them they look enormous, might have to swap for a medium.

neveradullmoment99 · 07/10/2021 21:06

Is it generous on the bust and upper arms? Had considered this dress but cannot be bothered faffing with returns!

neveradullmoment99 · 07/10/2021 21:10

I am a 12 and sometimes a 10 in Toast dresses. Difficult to judge!

neveradullmoment99 · 07/10/2021 21:12

I really love the neckline and the side splits.

CatherineCawood · 07/10/2021 21:18

So the pj's are too small, the top is ok though I feel like the yoke is in a bit of a weird place. The bottoms I can't get up! It is these ones:

www.toa.st/collections/womens-nightwear/products/ukiyo-print-cotton-pyjamas-slate

The sizing is most peculiar. They must get an awful lot of returns.

neveradullmoment99 · 07/10/2021 21:23

Such a beautiful pattern though!

faustina · 07/10/2021 21:26

That is a lovely print. It reminds me a bit of something by House of Hackney (who have just done a brilliant collab with Barbour)

@neveradullmoment99 I found that dress was not generous on the bust

CatherineCawood · 07/10/2021 21:26

I am a 16-18 top, 38C* bra, I think that the 12 is just OK, now way would I have got into any smaller. The upper arms are blousy so if you are bigger on your upper arm that shouldn't be an issue. I would say that the top is probably 1 or 2 sizes smaller than standard, the bottom half about 4 sizes.
  • I expect the bra intervention peeps will be along soon to tell me that no one is a 38C and I am really a 32J or something!!
neveradullmoment99 · 07/10/2021 21:26

www.toa.st/products/ukiyo-print-cotton-dhuggie-slate

Same print?

CatherineCawood · 07/10/2021 21:43

yes that's the same, gorgeous print isn't it. They do an xl pj I didn't realise so might swap for an XL instead.

I don’t know the schedule, but the Toast insta promotes it regularly. I don’t pay much attention to it as my nearest shop is well over 100 miles away but I think following them would give you the update info. It’s a great idea, wish I lived nearer a store.
ilovecherries · 07/10/2021 23:17

I was really disappointed with the cord shirt from Kin. It was weirdly short on me - probably wider then it was long. I’m 5’7 so not an unusual height. And the side slits continued above the waist band of my trousers,so it was very draughty and exposing.

Laska2Meryls · 08/10/2021 07:56

Cherries Im not sure if I should mention this on the Toast thread really..but I bought a really nice red cord shirt from Sainsbury's Tu the other day.. £16! Sized up so that is nice and loose..
..

Has anyone tried the Toast checked cotton cashmere shirt ? I'm wondering about the length of that?

ilovecherries · 08/10/2021 08:18

I will have a look at that Laska, thanks. I bought a couple from M&S last year but they didn’t wash well at all, and we also teeny made.

ScottishMouse · 08/10/2021 16:49

Had anyone got the Shetland fairisle sweater? I hadn’t paid much attention to it online but saw it on someone in the street the other day and it looked lovely. Colours looked a bit different in real life. I wonder if it is itchy though, I can’t stand itchy wool.
