@Theteapotsbrokenspout, well, it works for me instead of HRT! 😅

iguanadonna · 03/10/2021 22:28

@Saurus72 what a gorgeous bargain!

savvy7 · 04/10/2021 11:47

I've just taken delivery of the graphic yoke sweater, but sadly I'm not feeling the love that the reviews suggest. I found it very wide and boxy, too short in the length, and the wool was slightly scratchy. Will be returned :(

ScottishMouse · 04/10/2021 12:13

Exactly what I thought @savvy7. I really thought I would be keeping it, but in the end I returned it for these same reasons. Such a shame.

faustina · 04/10/2021 18:58

Some very nice new Kin things have appeared on the website and unfortunately I want almost all of them - grr! There's a lovely green check gingham dress, and a needlecord dress and shirt - and the shirt comes in a beautiful orange too! I am going to have to sit on my hands..but if anyone buys could you please post pics?

ilovecherries · 04/10/2021 20:27

Oh, I’m thinking the cord shirt might look nice with the toast denim jerkin.

SmaugMum · 04/10/2021 20:37

@faustina, my Fan print dress arrived today and I love everything about it - except, the fabric seems very ‘creasy’. I walk up big hills for school runs and get very hot and sweaty and I don’t want to arrive as a crumpled mess. Plus, ironing = no, thanks! I ACTUALLY had to retrieve the iron from the back of a kitchen cupboard (and blow the dust of it 😅) in order to press the dress before I hung it in the shower room to ‘relax’.

Please tell me that this beautiful dress is not going to be too high maintenance for my indolent lifestyle! Interestingly, I have the Mila dress and the fabric, while similar, seems weightier and the crinkles and creases just fall out of it. I wore my Mila all summer on various camping and glamping trips and never once felt crumpled.

faustina · 04/10/2021 20:39

@SmaugMum - I think it might be someone else you mean? I don't have a fan print dress!

SmaugMum · 04/10/2021 20:51

@faustina, so sorry!

@Saurus72, please would you mind reading my previous (boring) post and let me have your thoughts?

mizu · 04/10/2021 21:14

So envious of the JL stalkers. Unfortunately I need a good 8+ hours sleep and can't even consider a 4am scout of the website.

Love that fan dress Star

Saurus72 · 04/10/2021 22:34

@SmaugMum I do know what you mean - I haven’t worn mine yet so I can’t comment what it’s like ‘in the field’. I can wear it tomorrow as a test run tho - I’ll be going for a 40 minute brisk walk first thing, then sitting at my desk for a few hours, then another walk then more sitting. Will take a picture after each activity and report back at the end of the day. Like actual science 😊

Saurus72 · 04/10/2021 22:37

@mizu you have no idea how much I need 8 hours sleep - I just very very rarely get it, it’s really horrible. It started when I turned 40 so clearly hormonal. Not recommended 😬

ToastCosILoveIt · 04/10/2021 23:09

@SmaugMum, I have the fan dress, wore it today (office job) and it doesn't crease particularly.

@Saurus72 Sad I can't even imagine and know it isn't worth a TOAST bargain!

I take a massive magnesium and B vit tablet from Newson Health which helps me a lot with sleep.

Auntpodder · 05/10/2021 12:00

I see Jo Rodgers on Instagram stories - she's a journalist - is doing a photoshoot for Toast at Charleston today... not sure if they are new clothes or not though...

Saurus72 · 05/10/2021 13:19

@mizu thanks so much for that tip - I used to take magnesium but for whatever reason completely forgot about it. Am also planning to try CBD, have heard good things.

Laska2Meryls · 05/10/2021 15:58

Here's the Jaquard jumper in S which I am really pleased with..
Also pleased relieved for my bank balance that the blue jerkin is too small for me ( in M ) but I have norkage and rugby players shoulders! This means that the flowered one will probably be also

ScottishMouse · 05/10/2021 16:43

Jaquard jumper looks lovely @Laska2Meryls. That’s a shame about the jerkin. A size small popped up today and I grabbed it. The fomo was too much with all the love it was getting here! I see a pic on Instagram this afternoon of it styled over a sweater, so I’m hoping I can make that work with some of my sweaters.

ScottishMouse · 05/10/2021 16:44

@Saurus72, commiserations on the sleep deprivation. Same here. It is grim.

Laska2Meryls · 05/10/2021 17:09

Yay ! ScottishMouse.. it is nice , hope that it works f r you
Sadly its not for me it seems .. unless a L pops back ( but Ive not seen one since I first looked ) ..
But who knows? Maybe the flowered one will be bigger .( and I kind of prefer it anyway) ..... Toast sizes are so strange .. I have stuff in every size from XS to XL!

Auntpodder · 05/10/2021 22:37

Tried the padded jacket with the stand collar today. The sizing is huge. I’m usually a L or XL but even the M was roomy on me. Tempted to buy for that reason alone…

Saurus72 · 06/10/2021 08:48

@SmaugMum reporting back on the fan print dress wear test. I forgot to take pictures, yesterday was v busy. But I went for walks wearing a jacket and got a bit ‘glowy’ (ok, sweaty), sat at my desk for hours and it wasn’t noticeably very creased. I little bit but nothing out of the ordinary and it performed better than I feared.

@ScottishMouse yep, insomnia really is crap isn’t it. I never ever had sleep problems until a few years ago and I think it’s permanently affecting my skin and definitely my dark circles.

ScottishMouse · 06/10/2021 08:54

@Auntpodder, I really wanted that jacket but even for Toast sizing it is ridiculously enormous. I am usually a small or sometimes medium, and I could have fit an extra person inside the xs with me. I can’t imagine it will work for many.

ScottishMouse · 06/10/2021 08:55

I’m the same @Saurus72. (Peri)menopause has a lot to answer for.

faustina · 06/10/2021 17:56

I ordered the Kin green dress - it's really nice! Unfortunately the button has been sewn on the wrong way round ( so it faces inside) and it won't actually unbutton, so I'm swapping it for one that ( hopefully) does tomorrow. This is a 6 so def size down!
