@ScottishMouse - yes I wore my similar dress with blundstones and socks last year - also clogs and socks - and I've just ordered some of the new fit flop clog boots which I'm hoping will be a possibility. I also have some lace up ankle boots by And/Or at JL which are quite useful

@neveradullmoment99 I have tried the other dress on - the swingy one, but there were two things I wasn't sure of: firstly, the sleeves didn't have buttons and I couldn't really roll them up which I like to do, secondly, I found the top half was slightly close fitting - smaller than the shirt dress in the same size. I am a 30e and it was a size 8. The rest of the dress was very swingy so didn't want to try a 10

Just picked up my denim workwear dress from John Lewis and sadly it is not for me. I am too short - the proportions just look all wrong on me, and the pockets fall too low. Sad. But my credit card will be thankful at least.

The denim is really nice though, a perfect weight for across the seasons. I wish they would do more dresses in this weight of denim instead of the very heavyweight denims.

I saw a photo of someone wearing it. It looked lovely. Also saw on Instagram the other dress denim a-line one ( didn't like in the styling conversations) but looked fab hanging up. Anyone tried that denim dress ( no colla r one.

Yes. It had to go back. It reached my (5ft 2in) ankles and it’s massive. I was gutted but it looked dreadful on me. I think you need to be very tall for it to work.

I bought the Elena long denim shirt a couple of months ago , which disappeared from the Toast website some time ago but iss still on JL website .. maybe that would be good on you scottishmouse .. Obviously its not a dress but long tunic.. lovely lightweight denim.. I love mine.. only drawback though is no pockets , but I can see me wearing it forever.
We are still on holiday , but on Monday I shall finally get my sale purchases!

I went into my first Toast in Brighton last week and thought of this thread! Omg the quality was amazing, having just been fingering the rails of synthetic clothes in other shops.

I loved the shirts - very versatile for styling, the 'crew' style tops with a little swing - universally flattering, and the neat cashmere jumper.

I'm super undecided what to buy so I'm going to reread this thread.

Try it on. I was similarly obsessed because I love that denim dress on the hanger. Unfortunately it didn’t love me back. I wish it had.

I'm hoping a TOAST fan can help me! I'm attempting to make my own version of the Pihu skirt but the images online aren't great, does someone here own the skirt that can take a close up picture of the type of pleats so I can see them better? I can't tell if they are knife pleats or box pleats :(

Just saw someone in Waitrose (natch) looking fabulous in the micro check jumpsuit. And she wasn’t much taller than me. Maybe I should try it again!

I have just picked up the gingham culottes (same as jumpsuit) from a charity shop in Inverness for £7!! The swing label is off but they look and feel brand new. I nearly broke my neck crossing the road while trying to get get my mask on to buy them after spotting them in the window at 50 paces.

It’s a Toastie’s delight here in Edinburgh today. After seeing the jumpsuit, I just saw the crinkle check dress on someone too. With a lovely (not Toast I don’t think) chunky sweater over, it looked great. I need to stop going out, I am being tempted at every turn.

They may be one size too big I think (haven’t tried them yet) but they will be fairly easy to alter so I risked it. I decided as soon as I saw them that I could make anything other than XS work if I had to.

Managed to stop myself actually going into Toast after seeing all the lovely Toast outfits out and about. I am home again and my credit card is safe for now.

@neveradullmoment99 yes, I bought the blue patterned jumper as well as the yoke one. Here is a picture which does not do it justice. Basically the Toast pics are accurate - it's quite long and a bit A-line.

I wore it yesterday with a little neck scarf to go mushrooming in the forest and felt Very Catalogue.
