Is this too sheer and / or too bridesmaid-ey for a wedding I’m attending (in March Grin ) I plan ahead….

The dark green one is totally fine as a guest. Also there is a darker one with a floral print which I think is lovely. Go for it!

countrytown · 22/08/2021 10:31

It's a nice dress but it does look a bit bridesmaidsy. I think it's colour & waftiness

HappyTimeTunnelDinosaur · 22/08/2021 10:32

It looks a bit too bridesmaid-y to me, lovely but not for a guest.

JEdgarHoover · 22/08/2021 10:34

Dark green one was lovely and if you wore it to my wedding I wouldn’t think anything of it (except that it’s a lovely dress). Maybe skip the floral crown though 😉

123ZYX · 22/08/2021 10:35

I'd be concerned about warmth in March. I can't think of what you could wear with it with the sleeves being so wide. I'm not sure a wrap would work because of it being so flow-y

thirstyformore · 22/08/2021 10:37

@Chipsandchesses I thought you were insane!!! The link shows the white one first, which looks just like a wedding dress!!

Actually in other colours I think it would be a lovely wedding guest. Maybe check what colour the bridesmaids are wearing just in case.....

TreaslakeandBack · 22/08/2021 10:37

Green is beautiful as long as the bridesmaids aren’t in green.

Lindtnotlint · 22/08/2021 10:37

Green fine.

Bluntness100 · 22/08/2021 10:38

It even says in the description for bridesmaid snd brides. 😃

BeaLola · 22/08/2021 10:39

It linked to the white one for me

I like the sage but as a guest I'd love the dark green, black patterned & navy in that order

If your March wedding is taking place in sone lovely centrally heated Register office or hotel like venue with minimal outside then I would buy it

DotsandCo · 22/08/2021 10:40

Love it OP, but as others have said, too upstaging I think for a wedding, with the very low cut and full length leg slit. Completely in love with this dress though ♥️

pleasekeeptotheright · 22/08/2021 10:41

"It even says in the description for bridesmaid snd brides."

.....and those attending their 17th wedding this year.

So also for guests. Why miss that bit off?!

Seasidemumma77 · 22/08/2021 10:42

Green was in lovely, also liked the dark floral

WingBingo · 22/08/2021 10:43

Very similar thread on S&B recently about long dresses for a wedding.

The general consensus was that unless it is black tie or you are a bridesmaid, long dresses are not a good idea.

I don’t think a lot of people would care in real life though, unless green is the bridal party colour.

BikeRunSki · 22/08/2021 10:43

@Bluntness100

It even says in the description for bridesmaid snd brides. 😃
It also says for “attending your 17th wedding this year”.
waterwaterwine · 22/08/2021 10:45

Think the dark green is lovely.
I also thought it was the white and didn't feel that would be appropriate but the dress itself is gorgeous.

Wishingwell75 · 22/08/2021 10:51

The link did initially show the white version and I thought you were having us on! 😁
The first responses were probably because of that.
It's an absolutely gorgeous dress, could be worn many times over and how you style it and your hair and makeup will be key to whatever you want to wear it to.
The green is gorgeous, so are most of the other colours, patterns imho.
I say yes, definitely yes!

PerpetualStudent · 22/08/2021 10:53

I tried on the dark green one (as a potential wedding dress, sorry!) it was really sheer, much more so than the photos, I also found the wrap-around part really awkward - not much give at the waistband, but lots of extra volume higher up the neckline? I tried two sizes and really wanted to love it but had to give up!

NightDreaming · 22/08/2021 11:01

@Chipsandchesses
I think it is gorgeous and you should definitely get it. For your reassurance, do you know what colour the bridesmaids are wearing? If they are in green you could always get it in a different colour?

randomusernameagain · 22/08/2021 11:02

I really like it, but I think it's too sheer for a wedding. It doesn't look like a bridesmaid dress in the green, if you went for floral it would certainly not look bridesmaidsy. However it is a bit too sheer when combined with the slit for a wedding!

ichundich · 22/08/2021 11:02

It's a bit too white 😅.

Shirleyphallus · 22/08/2021 11:04

It links to the dark green for me and is lovely, good for a wedding

PricklesTheHedgehog · 22/08/2021 11:06

It's a lovely dress.
A little too see-through for me, but I do like it.

This dress as a guest of a wedding?
ErrolTheDragon · 22/08/2021 11:11

The wide sleeves, length, wrap over style and inappropriately high leg slit make it look like a nice dressing gown. It's nearly a very nice dress for a wedding (in one of the non bride or bridesmaid colours) but misses the mark.

Mantlemoose · 22/08/2021 11:19

I think it's lovely!
