Do teenagers wear Superdry?

DA will be 13 next month - going into Y8.
He’s a total country bumpkin, not at all street wise. He seems much younger than 13, but is very tall!
He’s green out if his favourite hoody and has asked for a replacement. It’s an orange sweatshirt with shaggy fleece lining that I got from Land’s End last year. They don’t do this colour anymore, abs fed grien out of their largest size anyway.

There is a very similar one in Superdry. It has a logo on. The only people I’ve consciously seen in Superdry are middle aged men! Do, do teenagers wear Superdry, or will he look like he’s pinched his dad’s jumper?

@NeverDropYourMoonCup

North Face round here (London).

Over 70F and there they are, wandering round town in stupidly warm coats so everybody knows how much was paid for them.

And yet in the middle of winter they won't be seen dead in a coat.

BikeRunSki · 18/08/2021 22:19

@1CheeryBlossomx, great colour!! Thank you, but he wants one which is fleece lined.

@Squiz81 oooh! I’ll do some digging around that one.

Urban outfitters, vans, uni clo? Carhart and stussy in our house also route one is a sure bet to find something he likes, with some dickies trousers?

@DancesWithTortoises

Teenagers/young people have always dictated brands - don’t you remember being that age?!

I do and it was never an issue for the crowd I hung out with. We all thought the others were ridiculous to care. Individuality not clones was our way.

If everyone was as individual as you and your friends you'd no longer be individual and you'd have nobody left to make you feel superior.
TerribleCustomerCervix · 18/08/2021 22:43

It’s a pity the brand is so out of fashion now- I have a plain navy hoody from there with only a v small logo on the chest and it’s great quality- proper weighty zip, metal toggles on the hood strings and a heavy fabric which actually keeps heat in.

I remember when I was at uni their lightweight fly jackets were all the rage!

ZealAndArdour · 18/08/2021 22:52

North Face or Patagonia. Or maybe some more skate brands like carhartt or Santa Cruz or Vans.

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 18/08/2021 23:50

Saltrock do borg lined hoodies but I don't know if they have any orange ones.

If you like it, you can still wear it. It doesn't have to be in fashion.

I'm amazed and delighted that North Face is now considered trendy and now feel completely differently about my cagoule!

SnipSnipMrBurgess · 19/08/2021 08:44

Round here it's nicce nike and 11 degrees. Most recently my son got a hoodie from a brand called pre which I really like.

Smeds · 19/08/2021 08:57

Yep Superdry round here is definitely for Dads.

And Skechers trainers for Grandads.

BeyondMyWits · 19/08/2021 09:09

North face and Adidas round here are worn by the drug dealer types. (according to Dd19)

Super dry is still worn... usually by the teenager's girlfriend. Lots of "vintage" going on right now amongst our older teens.

rookiemere · 19/08/2021 09:09

@shreddednips apparently North Face is very popular with gangs and those involved in street crime, which made me feel very differently about my red waterproof Grin.

BikeRunSki · 19/08/2021 09:15

And Skechers trainers for Grandads

I never had any doubt about that!

@rookiemere and @BeyondMyWits I said this up thread 🙂 it’s a very clear uniform!

AllTheSingleLadiess · 19/08/2021 10:05

Here it's a mum and dad's brand

AllTheSingleLadiess · 19/08/2021 10:07

Do they have a similar one in JD Sports? They stock "safe" brands like North Face and Nike

catelina · 19/08/2021 10:12

Have a look at Goose & Gander - they're massively good value and all the cooler for not being ubiquitous. Lots of colours too.

JamesWilbysAbs · 19/08/2021 10:25

The only people I know who wear Superdry are me and my friend. We are in our early 50s!!!! I last bought stuff for my son/ nephews about 7-8 years ago.

BikeRunSki · 19/08/2021 10:32

Lol! I’m very excited about my ancient mountaineering kit being fashionable! 1990s Patagonia still going strong!

LynetteScavo · 19/08/2021 13:33

My DD was very impressed by my Dickies overalls I wear for painting- apparently Dickies is an on-trend brand and I should have bought her Dickies Sweatshirt form urban outfitters . I didn't because she owns 2000 sweatshirts and didn't need another I'm mean.

Haudyourwheesht · 19/08/2021 21:00

You can buy Dickies stuff from Screwfix. 😂

(Bet that's the first time Screwfix has had a mention on S&B.)

somewhereoverthe · 20/08/2021 15:47

Thanks for this thread, my 12 year old likes Nike and Uniqlo but a few more ideas on here. He has only recently started to notice what he is wearing and have opinions on it so it's a whole new world!
