Do teenagers wear Superdry?

DA will be 13 next month - going into Y8.
He’s a total country bumpkin, not at all street wise. He seems much younger than 13, but is very tall!
He’s green out if his favourite hoody and has asked for a replacement. It’s an orange sweatshirt with shaggy fleece lining that I got from Land’s End last year. They don’t do this colour anymore, abs fed grien out of their largest size anyway.

There is a very similar one in Superdry. It has a logo on. The only people I’ve consciously seen in Superdry are middle aged men! Do, do teenagers wear Superdry, or will he look like he’s pinched his dad’s jumper?

Also if he's country bumpkin (and his peers are too) Jack wills is still very much fashionable among the young farmer/agri/equestrian crowd. Depends a lot on your area.

DancesWithTortoises · 18/08/2021 17:28

@MaMelon

Punch him? No, I wouldn’t recommend it.

You seem very keen to slag off other people’s choice of clothing. I wonder why.

Not so much slagging off as baffled as to why people think labels matter.
MarleneDietrichsSmile · 18/08/2021 17:32

My 16 yr old still wears super dry but I don’t think it’s “in”, but s we ho cares at 13? Until he discovers his own style just let him wear what he likes? It’s usually good quality

My two teens are anti-fashion and wear clothes for comfort. Not all teens want to look “cool”

FedUpAtHomeTroels · 18/08/2021 17:32

I hope they still wear superdry. I just handed Dd 16 a hoodie and a long sleeve tee from there as I went to Chrshire oaks and she was home. She was thrilled to bits.

Atalune · 18/08/2021 17:33

Rural here

Under 14s (ish) Nike, north face, vans, champion

Over- rip n dip, stussy, Patagonia, some Nike. Unbranded stuff too.

Super dry- dad clothing.

Lunificent · 18/08/2021 17:34

North Face, Vans
Def not Superdry.

MaMelon · 18/08/2021 17:35

Ahh well, it takes all kinds to make a world. Live and let live, and all that.

MaMelon · 18/08/2021 17:36

Forgot to quote. That last post to DancesWithTortoises

DH and I love Superdry but we are almost 50. DD 22, DD19, DS 18 are not very keen on Superdry but will wear stuff that doesn't have the logo.

HmmmmmmInteresting · 18/08/2021 17:40

Apparently Superdry is a no-no
I'm not surprised because when I was dating a few years ago all the 40+ men were wearing it.

ChorleyFMcominginyourears · 18/08/2021 17:42

It's siksilk round here but that's probably because the owners and the factory are all here. Not seen anyone in superdry for ages but when I do it tends to be middle aged men who are trying to look trendy

Pinotwoman82 · 18/08/2021 17:44

My DS says superdry is a dad brand ! He tends to wear Nike, Tommy, niice, Levi, north face

BikeRunSki · 18/08/2021 17:50

Thanks everyone
He’s not fussed about labels, he just wants a fleece lined, orange hoody, and the Superdry one is the only one I can find. I just don’t want him to be even uncooler* than he already is.

  • lighthearted, he is very much of the geek persuasion than the football star persuasion, and quite happy about this.

The one I could see in the men's section only has a very small Superdry label though on the hem. It doesn't immediately scream Superdry.

He sounds very cute ☺️ Yeah, don't buy him Superdry.
peaceanddove · 18/08/2021 18:00

Not on my teens or their friends. Vintage Tommy Hilfiger or Hugo Boss sweatshirts seem very popular.

Mischance · 18/08/2021 18:03

Superdry always makes me smile - sounds a bit like some sort of incontinence garment.

RoseRedRoseBlue · 18/08/2021 18:05

North Face and Gucci man bags are the uniform for County Lines dealers round here!

MaMelon · 18/08/2021 18:05

That didn’t quite work as I’d planned Confused

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 18/08/2021 18:07

Here it seems to be Nike, Adidas and Nicce.

Donotgogentle · 18/08/2021 18:07

Vans is popular among teen boys of my acquaintance. I think their stuff is good quality.

BikeRunSki · 18/08/2021 19:14

@HmmmmmmInteresting, 😊 he is quite cute. I won’t buy him Superdry.
@MaMelon. Thanks. That’s out of stock in all sizes, and he really wants one with that chunky fleece lining. I call It fibre pile, but I think it’s now called “Borg”, or “Sherpa fleece”.

My 19 year old and 14 year old both wear superdry hoodies. Both chose them for themselves. Ive seen a couple of their friends wear superdry jackets. My DH also wears superdry hoodies in his 40s so i think its an all rounder round here lol

Sorry - I should have noticed the sizes were all of our stock. Hope you find one, or that he likes the Superdry one if you go for that Smile
