Do teenagers wear Superdry?

DA will be 13 next month - going into Y8.
He’s a total country bumpkin, not at all street wise. He seems much younger than 13, but is very tall!
He’s green out if his favourite hoody and has asked for a replacement. It’s an orange sweatshirt with shaggy fleece lining that I got from Land’s End last year. They don’t do this colour anymore, abs fed grien out of their largest size anyway.

There is a very similar one in Superdry. It has a logo on. The only people I’ve consciously seen in Superdry are middle aged men! Do, do teenagers wear Superdry, or will he look like he’s pinched his dad’s jumper?

Oh and YY to Nicce - that seems very popular round here. I like to pronounce it 'niiiiiiiiice' in an Alan Partridge voice which winds DS2 up.

Delphigirl · 18/08/2021 14:53

Actually the really cool ones buy 80s vintage sweatshirts on Depop (primary colours etc!)

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 18/08/2021 14:54

Urban Outfitters is v popular round here.

LynetteScavo · 18/08/2021 15:09

Step away from Superdry and Jack Wills

For boys it's Vans or Northface here.

Urban Outfitters will give you an idea of what's on-trend.

TeachesOfPeaches · 18/08/2021 15:12

All the 90s brands are back including Champion and Reebok. Definitely no Super Dry or Jack Willis

DancesWithTortoises · 18/08/2021 15:15

Why on earth are children dictating brands?

DS1 chose something not at all trendy and when a classmate took the mick he told him that if he wore he'd be mistaken for a Chav. And no one wants that.

Classmate looked a bit daft after that and nothing more was said.

UnicornMadeOfPinkGlitter · 18/08/2021 15:22

If he wants champion and you live near a Costco they sell lots in there. Ds is 19 and will
wear champion so I often pick bits up when I go to Costco. Much cheaper then on the high street.
Have also got Ralph Lauren, north face and under armour gym gear there as well.

I have a 15yr old daughter and her friends that are boys wear Nike, champion, the plainer sweatshirts from urban outfitters (les trans ??? Maybe not sure in the name) or plain from places like H&M Zara pull &bear.

Teenagers/young people have always dictated brands - don’t you remember being that age?!
megletthesecond · 18/08/2021 15:23

Not these days. Superdry is middle aged dad territory.

OnlyFlans · 18/08/2021 15:23

Not round here- it's all Nike, Adidas or north face

I do and it was never an issue for the crowd I hung out with. We all thought the others were ridiculous to care. Individuality not clones was our way.

I have to agree. Mine tend to avoid having the same as others.
vegas888 · 18/08/2021 15:52

Stussy but not superdry, hollister or Jack wills, I’ve 2 teens and neither would were them

LynetteScavo · 18/08/2021 16:12

DD is suddenly into GAP after not wanting to be seen dead in it for the last 5 years. Confused

And yet you and your son seem quite judgemental of others - chav? Really??Perhaps that individuality should come with a more live and let live attitude.
Bathshebahardy · 18/08/2021 16:30

My DGD age 13 happily wears Superdry.

NeverDropYourMoonCup · 18/08/2021 16:48

North Face round here (London).

Over 70F and there they are, wandering round town in stupidly warm coats so everybody knows how much was paid for them.

LAlady · 18/08/2021 16:50

Middle aged men tend to be their biggest fans.

Notavegan · 18/08/2021 16:53

As a 40 something not very fashionable hiker I'm delighted to read that my walking gear is 'in' with teans Smile

He chose the word deliberately after the other boy tried to bully him. Seems fair enough to me. Maybe he should have punched him instead.

You seem very defensive. I wonder why.

MaMelon · 18/08/2021 17:08

Punch him? No, I wouldn’t recommend it.

You seem very keen to slag off other people’s choice of clothing. I wonder why.

WhenZoomWasJustAnIceLolly · 18/08/2021 17:14

They go crazy for super dry here but we’re fairly rural and hardly cutting edge of fashion.

lookingforadvice21 · 18/08/2021 17:17

Unless they are lesbians no

liveforsummer · 18/08/2021 17:25

Hype is still in the boys in DD's year but they are a year or so younger. The bags ate out but hoodies still seem to be around. Not sure if they grow out of them soon - someone else might be able to advise. Superdry not especially cool but if he actually likes the sweatshirt who cares what name is on it?!
