Bootcut trousers - is anyone wearing them?

I had to buy a few pairs of work trousers, since I've lost a fair bit of weight. I picked up some bootcut trousers (which I think I last wore mid-00s?), which should arrive in a few days. DH was like "oh right, are those a thing again?", and I'm second-guessing myself
Have a fallen for a scam by Big Trouser to get us to move from skinnies and straights, or are they actually a thing again?

What boots with boot cuts?

I don't look good in bootcuts. I remember reading these teen magazines as an awkward teenager with heavy thighs about how the magical boot cut jean will balance out your shape. It made/ makes me look very short and frumpy. I prefer straight legs or even mom jeans rolled up.

Bootcut jeans look awful on me. I'm short and well built (as well as being slightly overweight) and they just make me look dumpy and add years. It's the same with any wide leg trousers. Skinny jeans look better even though I'm not thin.

I don’t know where all these bootcut wearers live but I haven’t noticed any near me… boyfriend, mom, barrel, wide, cropped, skinny, high waist, straight but no bootcut
