Are white toenails the only 'in' colour right now?

I'm going for another gel pedicure today and just wondered if I should change from white to something else

I do like the white, I like white anyway. But I also have it as it appears to be the height of nail varnish fashion right now Grin

Is this actually true? Everyone seems to be painted white at the moment

I like white but my feet are currently tanned and have painted my toenails silver. I think they look good

Ohpulltheotherone · 07/08/2021 17:31

White is trendy right now yep.

I personally like either a nude pink or red (bright or dark- both are great) on hands and toes. Both suit a tan I think and both look good with all colours of sandals.

Snoopsnoggysnog · 07/08/2021 18:11

@RampantIvy I’ve been wearing that shade too from the M&S beauty bag - I love it! I guess it’s not on trend though 🤣 I’m going to try white next!

Snoopsnoggysnog · 07/08/2021 18:11

On that note what colour is in for finger nails? Asking for a friend Grin

Willwebebuyingnumber11 · 07/08/2021 18:12

I only ever have a french polish.

allfurcoatnoknickers · 07/08/2021 18:13

I've got white fingers and neon toes. I always like a bit of neon with a tanGrin.

White just looks like tippex to me. I love coral in that summer but am currently wearing Essie Mint Candy Apple on my toes. I don't like French pedicures - to me it looks like the toe nails need cutting. As a teenager in the 80s I loved Rimmel Gold Fever on my toes - gold toenails and a dark tan made me feel very glamorous.

CookPassBabtridge · 07/08/2021 20:29

They look awful sorry, I don't understand why some people follow trends rather than pick a colour they like!? I love red so my toes are usually red.

RampantIvy · 07/08/2021 20:57

I'm not keen on the "Tippex look" TBH.
I used to sell gallons of the stuff, so I don't get the love for it.

QueenPeary · 07/08/2021 21:02

One thing I like about painting my nails is experimenting with different colours and suddenly getting into something new. But as it's about colour, you can't always follow fashion because some colours will never work on some people. I can't wear anything blue or greyish as I'm pale and yellow-toned and it just looks like my feet have died.

I remember when Chanel Particuliere was a big trend and I thought it looked really cool, but there's no way it would have worked on me :(

The pink suits your skintone much more, it looks way better.

White may be on trend, but only a tiny percentage of people are ever going to know that. Everyone else will just wonder what on earth you're thinking.

I'm very much into beauty but unless it's a special event I generally stick with classic colours for this reason!

HasaDigaEebowai · 07/08/2021 21:23

White looks awful imo. I saw my BF yesterday and she had milky white nails and I did a double take thinking something was wrong with her hands.

bizboz · 07/08/2021 21:23

Which colours work if you have no tan at all like me?

MrsHuntGeneNotJeremyObviously · 07/08/2021 22:55

The pink looks lovely OP. Much better than the white, which is everywhere and not very nice.
I've got bubblegum pink on my toes at the moment, but I think coral is lovely with a tan.

idontlikealdi · 07/08/2021 23:39

I hate the white. I've got neon pink toes with my tan at the moment (it's not a tan more windburn from being on a uk beach Holliday!) but at least my toes look happy.

JaceLancs · 08/08/2021 00:12

Feet and nails this week
White would just not suit me
Wear what you love though

Mine are classic bright red. I love them. White makes my toes look unhealthily purple.

Reloxa · 08/08/2021 09:45

Not really a fan of white but miles better than French, which makes it look like you have long toenails that need cutting.

I like all the corals, pastels, neons suggested.

sunglassesonthetable · 08/08/2021 09:57

Love your new pink OP. Didn't mind the white though wouldn't go for it on mine. Also liked yours @allfurcoatnoknickers .

I think nails are great way to follow trends without a massive commitment. And despite some posters being snooty about it, lots of people love to follow trends. And 🤷‍♀️?

Soontobe60 · 08/08/2021 10:12

I currently have a deep coral, last time I had royal blue. My finger nails are always different colours too 🤣, they're currently different shades of pink.

Obviously shouldn't have clicked if I didn't want to see lots of feet! Grin

White would suit me but I don't think it looks right overall. I like corals in summer and neon pink - I don't mind blue but pale blue.

Soontobe60 · 08/08/2021 10:17

Just out of interest, how much do you all pay for gel toes? My friends were having a conversation the other day - I paid £15 (didn't have a full foot pedicure), last time had the full works and paid £35 - my feet went in like hooves and came out looking like baby feet though.

I pay £25 for my fingers.

LivingDeadGirlUK · 08/08/2021 10:18

I like metalics in the summer how about silver?

ByThePool2021 · 08/08/2021 10:28

The baby pink is lovely. Mine are currently a light taupe colour. Blue sky blindfold to be exact. Usually I paint mine neon though because I like neon colours, and nails are a good way to be bright and creative in ways I wouldn’t dress

Blossomtoes · 08/08/2021 10:29

My pedicure costs £27 @Soontobe60. I can’t see the point of having gel on my toes, normal polish lasts perfectly on my feet until it grows out. A gel manicure costs me £30 - or at least it used to, my technician has been on mat leave for the last nine months.
