Hi all,
Couldn't see a new thread?
Hope this one is OK!

@MissBattleaxe, a large part of my perfume history is encapsulated in that list. Please may I add the much lamented discontinued Vert Boheme and another Vert, both from Tom Ford. Fortunately PP does a decent Verty Boham.

Trying to add to the greens list, FFerny. My bottles are on a different floor to my desk in my new house, which I am discovering isn't great when I want to ferret around, and type, at the same time.

Most of these are oldies and I bet you already know/own most of them:

-Givenchy III (look out for the 7ml parfum)
-Grey Flannel (still cheap and cheerful).
-Vintage Via Lanvin (miniatures of this turn up. Beautiful if you like your bitter greens with violet).
-Audace (lots around for an absolute classic and forerunner of the genre).

  • Vintage Y (Floral and gently animalic green).
  • Vintage Mystere (if you like your bitter greens on the very animalic side).

-Safari (on the grassy side of things),
-Yatagan (if you are open to getting lost in the foresty end of green).

Thank you both. Fabulous suggestions. I love Vent Vert & Safari, though my vintage bottle has sadly gone off. Audace sound fabulous, but I'm very wary of buying vintage on eBay, as the ones I've got so far have all been fried. I really liked vert boheme when I tried it, so the pp. version may be worth a try. I used to have Silences as I prefer it to No. 19. It's really underrated.

Loving all the appreciation for bitter green/earthy scents! A section of perfumes I don't often see getting a lot of attention. Don't have much to add to all the wonderful suggestions here, except:

  • Clinique Aromatics Elixir (not strictly a green scent, but so complex and rich, and definitely has green facets, at least to me)

And for those who don't mind men's scents:
  • Aramis Devin (Bitter green opening, spicy carnation/hyacinth/earthy heart, quite animalic at times)
  • Original Dior Eau Sauvage edp (Lemony opening, herbal green middle - like a Neal's Yard shop!)

@Artdecolover Avon Timeless looks right up my street! (Amber? Chypre? Powder? Yes, please! 😁) I find powdery scents so comforting. Am on a strict no perfume buying month currently (except samples, they don't count, right?), but will definitely have to try this soon, especially as it's such good value. Mention anything Youth Dew (😍) and I always sit up straighter. I have many favourite fragrances, but this one holds a special place in my heart. It is what originally sent me down this wonderfully perfumed rabbit hole. Amber Nude looks amazing!
Your enthusiasm for 4160 shazam is infectious. I having been reading reviews on fragrantica and this does look wonderful.

@MissBattleaxe Thank you for all your wonderful suggestions. What an amazing list of things I now have to try, I've been eagerly googling all evening and we must have very similar taste. I already had my eye on Papillon because I've been meaning to get a sample of Bengale Rouge, I'll get a sample of Dryad too. Reviews mentioned the dry down of BR smelled like a mix of Shalimar and Opium, and after that I couldn't ignore it. I love any fragrance from Estée Lauder. (Seriously, they could bring out bathroom cleaner and I would happily wear it) Dana Tabu has long been a favourite, and you've prompted me get a bottle next time I'm in the chemist's. I have never smelled Dune, and after looking on fragrantica, I need to rectify this immediately! Will definitely sniff next time I pass a department store .

@Fferny1 Great minds think alike! Smile

Finally, can I just say this thread is the nicest place on the internet. I've found my happy place. ❤️

P. S. Sorry for the long post! I didn't realise until I pressed preview. Blush

@FragrantlyScent you are very welcome 😊

This thread is my happy place! You will not find a lovelier bunch of people 💜

4160 did a fab scent called Amber mambo too which I can only describe as a lighter, fizzier version of youth dew. I don't think they make it anymore.

@MissBattleaxe is spot on (she usually is!) with 4160 amberama too. I have this one and also a special SSOTPE with added Amber*

Avon ambre Ardent is lovely too and I have that one also ☺

You might like 4160 eau my soul too. It's very warm and comforting.

*if you join thr 4160 news fb page you get lots of special offers/editions.

@Fragrantly Wrappings is my all time favourite perfume for cooler weather.
Cristalle is my summer choice. My latest bottle smells the same but doesn't last at all. Cristalle was unavailable for a while, so I reckon it's most probably been reformulated. Or my nose is broken.

Zara scents delivered and now have one on each wrist. mrsR, I think you might be right about the Bergamot and Leather... the leather is a bit fierce, so much that I can barely smell the Citrus Meze... tomorrow I shall do one at a time! I was hoping the Bergamot would be more like the Mona di Orio Lux, which is lemon and suede and delicious but £££.

Artdeco I've joined the 4160Ts Facebook page, thanks for the tip! Smile I love Avon, they're such good value, but also very good quality.

Fferny I adore most Clinique scents, except Happy, which everyone but me seems to love.

SOTD Dior Fahrenheit parfum. Fruity violet top, woody vanilla base. A wonderfully rich summer fragrance, perfect when I want something a bit heavier.

I love avon :) The only issue is some of their best stuff is discontinued so quickly :(

As @MissBattleaxe says, if they re-releasea some of the classics like moonwind and odyssey they'd make a fortune!

Currently watching a documentary on the Scottish clans and jacobite rebellion...ds1 gets his a level results at 8.30am 😬

Judy I’ve got the Zara rhubarb one and I love it. Has the sharpness and tang of rhubarb and dries down nicely but couldn’t tell you the dry down scent as I’m just learning to sniff!

Hello! SOTD Fluffy Lemon Top 4160 Tuesday, sprayed this morning and smell has almost entirely gone now so won't get a full bottle of this.

Am very slowly decluttering ahead of a house move. I've got a small bottle of 4160 Tuesday Tarts Knicker Drawer that I bought off someone to try it but won't get through. It's not my thing at all. Does anyone want it? Happy to post out.
