Basically is it worth it?

I'm considering buying one now my kids our out of the nappy bag stage but still need a large day bag sometimes - I like the idea of a bag I can just use when I need to carry quite a few bits but that also looks lovely. I've seen quite a few women at the gym with them and am considering a purchase.

I have a small Gucci marmont in black which I use most days - but I end up with a canvas tote or scruffy gym bag a lot! Which I don't love.

I'm weighing up getting a monogrammed one but is it a bit tragic? I do love it!

You could go for Epi leather if you wanted something less obvious?

I love these too but have never bitten the bullet and gone for it. Would be the checkerboard one for me. I have a friend who had the monogrammed one when hers were babies and it always looked fab but she is one of those types who would look glamorous in a bin bag

YesI have it in the monogrammed and I use it almost every day. It's hard wearing, holds lots, so easy just to grab and go. Cost per wear must be nothing. I'm thinking of getting another in a different colour. I also have a marmont but I tend to use it more if I'm going out as like you for everyday use I would always end up with a tote as well.

Mine is on order. Will report back! I have the damier with cherry red lining which came back into stock for about half an hour last week - managed to get my hands on one.

However, the epi leather is gorgeous too 😍

The Epi leather is nice but I don't love it in the same way.

I might have to arrange a visit to go and see them to make my purchase. Is it best to check that they have the stock in, they are all out of stock on the website!

If you love it, buy it - they take a real bashing and still look good. Indestructible.

@queenofkale you can sign up for an email alert when they come back into stock. I was lucky and checked at the right time as the stock sold out in minutes!
I looked ahead to book an appointment to view and it was weeks - with no guarantee they’d have what I wanted.

I can’t stand that awful tacky LV print but one in a solid colour would be good.

They are good quality.

Personally I don't like a big bag as I hate carrying too much, but really useful for travelling or things like work conferences.

If you love it then get it . But at the end of the day it is a canvas tote so only ‘worth it’ by your own standards.

So would you go for the MM or the GM - the MM is in stock now, it's so difficult without holding them. I don't want one that isn't big enough but also don't want just comically large!

The GM is really very big. I can get my laptop in the MM and I’m 5 ‘9 and I though the GM was a tiny bit too big. I use the MM for hand luggage as well.

If you Google neverfull GM mod shot or neverfull MM mod shot, that might help. Then you get photos of the bag on people which is useful for gauging size.

And you can always return.

The Saint Laurent shopper is far more chic IMO. Not that I’ll ever be able to afford either!

Ohhh after looking at all the sizes with people holding them your right I think the MM is the right size for me.

So now I am really torn between the pale checkerboard with the ballerina lining and the monogrammed with the bright pink lining - the monogram is out of stock.

Does anyone know how well the lighter colours wear? I'm worried it might look tatty sooner. But it would be nicer for summer I think.

I think the white Damier is beautiful and very luxe looking, but I'd only buy it if I tended to wear a bright or pastel colour pallet.

I tend to live in darker colours and so it wouldn't "go" with the rest of my wardrobe. I'd have to go for the Damier Ebene.

One thing that puts me off is no zip though and the very open nature of it. I have a large Longchamp Le Pliage which is essentially the same shape and size but it's got a zip and a button flap so doesn't gape so much. I don't even zip it that much but the Neverfull just seems so incredibly wide open compared to other bags.

GM is massive!
I am 5"3 and MM does it all for me.
I've got 2 - they are the hardest working bags i own.
Two years ago i bought a ysl tote and frankly it's an embarassment qualitywise vs the neverfull

Oh so interestingly in the summer I am wear a lot of floaty pastels so I'm worried that the dark will be too dark - but then I feel like the darker is better for winter! (Am I talking myself into two )

Good to know the quality is really good! That's what I need really something that will last forever - I have heard they are weight tested to something like 200lbs or something!

If you are between 2 clothing palettes then probably the Monogram with Vachette would cover both bases.

There is always the Empriente which comes in a colour called Tourterelle or something which is basically Taupe and looks like it goes with everything. And still has a bit of Monogram stamping.

Be aware people do say the straps are a bit sore at first until they soften up.

I have the MM and find it a bit too big for everyday, tbh. I only have it a few months so I havent got much wear out of it yet. I imagine I’ll use it for travelling when that starts up again!

Mine is the Damier azur pattern and I love it

I have the MM which I bought in November last year after covering it for years. It is THe BEST thing I have ever ever bought and brings me great joy. It’s strong, perfect size, easy to carry and looks good with everything.

I have monogram with bright pink lining btw. It’s gorgeous

Just had the email to say mine’s arriving tomorrow 😁 it’s the darker damier with cherry lining.
