I don't really mind if it's expensive if you can't beat the smell?

Lancome hypnose

Blueink · 05/08/2021 19:53

Angel is a vanilla dominant perfume, I use(d) the hair mist as it can be a bit overpowering, too much for daytime.

Aveda also do a vanilla oil which is subtle and very comforting by itself or layers well with other fragrances.
My favourite perfume is Carthusia La Sirena with powdery vanilla notes, works in daytime (especially cooler months) and evenings.
Moving away from vanilla, for summer, Daisy Dream is an uplifting and refreshing every day fruity floral. Also Happy by Clinique.
Fragrance is personal and as other posters it depends how it works on your skin, but also mood and style as well as circumstances - at work, on a date, relaxing at home.

Nat6999 · 05/08/2021 19:58

Discontinued now but I used to love Fendi, now I love Clinique Happy.

larkstar · 05/08/2021 20:02

Issey Miyake for my wife
I also like the men's IM aftershave.

Tazmania77 · 05/08/2021 20:17

Flowerbomb Viktor and rolf
Maison margiela jazz club
Escentric molecules no 1

grannyjacob · 05/08/2021 20:37

Any of the Escentric Molecules range, they seem to smell different on everyone.
Most of the Tom Ford range.
And for me in winter, it’s Calvin Klein’s Obsession, although I know a lot of people find it very dated and overpowering.

Metabigot · 05/08/2021 20:39

Recently discovered penhaligons... loving the duchess Rose and cousin flora. They are so feckin expensive though.

MsDastardley · 05/08/2021 20:42

I used to love Sisley Eau du Soir and Soir du Lune. They are both quite heavy perfumes, which I don’t normally go for. I always got compliments when I wore then. The price has gone up a lot since I first tried it, and not bought for a while. I’ve got too many fragrances

I only wear Boucheron. It is not marketed at all in the UK but you can now get it online here (and cheaper than in shops in Paris!). It is not too sweet, lasts well but changes a bit through the day. I have looked and looked for something to replace it but now don;t bother as i can get it online in the UK.

Lanique · 05/08/2021 20:50

I bought Penhaligon's Halfeti recently and it's blown me away. Every time I wear it I feel as if I'm coming home Smile

It manages to beat my two fave JM scents off the top spot (myrrh & tonka and cypress & grapevine) as well as Coco Chanel (my all time 'coming bome' scent.

Trying81 · 05/08/2021 20:51

@ParkheadParadise

My favourites are Coco Mademoiselle Flower bomb Stella jimmy choo
Love the first two so based on that I need to now try the bottom two
Goblincore · 05/08/2021 20:52

Lanique · 05/08/2021 20:53

I love the original issey miyake perfume - such a fresh distinctive fragrance - I buy a large bottle every year so wear it every day as life is too short to save for best 😁

LibbyL92 · 05/08/2021 21:36

Molecules 01

I’ve never looked back! People at work said they can smell me before they see me and they know it’s me! (In a really really good way)

It’s stunning!!!

IrishMumInLondon2020 · 05/08/2021 21:38

Chanel No 5
Issiye Miyake
Anything from Cloon Keen

heidihigh · 05/08/2021 21:43

For me it has to be Black Opium by YSL. Armani Diamonds is a close second. I also love Angel by Thierry Mugler as that's my mums favourite Smile

Germolenequeen · 05/08/2021 21:53

I think it’s a personal thing. So for me, Eau de Gucci, sadly discontinued.

There is some available if you Google but I doubt it smells the same 😏

Got married wearing Eau De Givenchy - think that's gone too 😕

eBay is your friend! I have some Eau de Gucci (navy plastic canister) from about 1987 which I picked up on eBay and also a mini Eau de Givenchy which came in a coffret.
