Seasalt sale

Seasalt are having a mid-season sale. It's not a place I do a lot of shopping in, but they recently started a maternity range, which included some jeans....Waterdance trousers. I'm not pregnant..too old at 64, but maternity jeans can sometimes work for me as I'm apple shaped.

I have one pair of these, and wanted another pair as I wear them so much, but at £62.50 a pop, they're not exactly cheap. However, in the sale, these jeans are reduced to £22.50, so I snapped up two more pairs.

Just thought I would share my good luck!!!!!!!!

I put in an order yesterday, they're bloody fab, such good quality I don't mind paying full price but love getting a bargain!

RampantIvy · 28/07/2021 17:07

I am a recent Seasalt convert. You shouldn't have mentioned the magic "sale" word Grin

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 28/07/2021 18:38

I've just had another look and ordered another couple of tops. I'm at the time of my life where I need everything natural fabric Grin

RockingMyFiftiesNot · 28/07/2021 18:48

I've seen Seasalt recommended so many times on here. How is their sizing? Do you find you need your usual size, or bigger/smaller? Appreciate it will vary even within the same label for some brands.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 28/07/2021 18:51

Not in the sale, but I bought their Pottering gown, as a summer weight dressing gown. Tis fab.

beardeddragon174 · 28/07/2021 19:05

@RockingMyFiftiesNot they're sometimes a bit weird. I am mostly a 12. I can be an 8 in their floaty tunic type dresses but need a 14 in their button-up fitted numbers.

beardeddragon174 · 28/07/2021 19:06

I adore Seasalt though!!

spinningspaniels · 28/07/2021 19:10

I love the fabrics but the sizing is ridiculous. I've got things from an 18 to a 24 as it's so unpredictable. I have lived in 2 linen dresses this summer, however.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 28/07/2021 19:51

Sixing is unpredictable but returns are fast and easy and free.

I was looking at the pottering gown, oooooooh I'm tempted now!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 28/07/2021 19:52

I'd like their stuff more if they did more black. I've got a couple of their striped tops and one lovely dress from them, but nothing is particularly exciting me in the sale.

Their boots are fabulous.

DaisyWaldron · 28/07/2021 19:55

They generally cut narrow in the shoulder which is great for me.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 28/07/2021 20:14

I have a pair of their boots , agree they're fabulous.

I would like a lot more neutral colours too, grey, black white and proper navy.

FangsForTheMemory · 28/07/2021 22:46

I love their stuff and blue is my favourite colour. Almost live in their tunics and striped t-shirts.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 28/07/2021 22:49

I don't like blue, other than denim. And nearly everything they make seems to be blue!

RockingMyFiftiesNot · 28/07/2021 22:49

Thanks for the responses re sizing.

LostThings · 28/07/2021 22:54

I've ordered 2 dresses from them in the sale. I'm petite but order the regular sizes in midi dresses / skirts as I like them that bit longer for me. Lovely quality stuff.

Notanotheruser111 · 29/07/2021 05:12

I ordered a bunch of stuff in their last sale which is all way better quality then I can get here in Aus……. Now they have shunted us off to the international site which means like next no more sales so annoyed

BikeRunSki · 29/07/2021 05:24

I want to like Seasalt, but their tops are always too short and don’t accommodate big boobs and their trousers are cut too narrow to get over my “athletic” lower legs. I have a couple of loose fit linen dresses though which I love.

KihoBebiluPute · 29/07/2021 05:50

Thank you @fuckyeahpercywigwam - I love Seasalt and have now spent more than i can afford on some great sale clothes.

Their website is really terrible though isn't it! I just had to browse through all 250ish items in the "sale" section because the Filter functionality won't allow me to filter out things I am not interested in (skirts, dresses, maternity wear) which is a ridiculous lack of functionality.

Bluebells1 · 29/07/2021 07:43

Most of their clothes are made in China these days. Which is why the quality is not as great as it used to be. It's a pain to find non chinese clothes on their website.Sad

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 29/07/2021 07:50

@BikeRunSki it's worth looking at the individual lengths on each top as while some are too short I've managed to pick up quite a few that are a decent length.

RampantIvy · 29/07/2021 08:01

I am tall with a normal body length, and am often puzzled by complaints of tops being too short on MN. Do most mumsnetters like tops that go over their hips?

Being a pear shape, a close fitting top that clings to my hips is really unflattering. I actually prefer tops that end just above my hips.

cheezy · 29/07/2021 08:07

Yeah it makes me cross that everything is made in China - not Cornwall as is implied.
I live in Seasalt dresses over the summer.

TheGenealogist · 29/07/2021 08:10

I splashed out and bought myself a pair of cropped summer trousers from Seasalt full price at the start of hte summer, was excited to see they now have them in the sale, but not all colours and not all sizes.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 29/07/2021 08:15

I want tops that are 28 inches long, 27 or shorter look awful on me.

I've just been reading about the factories in China, they're not sweat shops and heavily regulated apparently.
