I like the red dress, though the shoes are a bit matchy-matchy, and I love a wide-legged trouser even if the pink pair is too creased. I like the exaggerated puffed sleeve of the blouse and it balances out the width of the trouser legs well.

Well, the jacket is on sale! Massimo Dutti, originally £99.95, now £69.95. I usually like their stuff, but a horizontal striped jacket is not easy to pull off.

Yes, those jeans with the raw edge are quite trendy, I don't think they go with the jacket, really. Maybe a shorter, more casual jacket?

Where is Kate? I don't think she's been seen in public since Wimbledon! Usually there are shots of them arriving at Balmoral but not this year.

That outfit is an unusual fail for CPM. I think it probably looked good on the spreadsheet but didn't quite work in real,life.

Not sure about Kate. I'm sure I saw some reports that they were having a family holiday in the Sicily Isles but it might have been old news.

Assume they're not joining Andrew in Balmoral.. I assume they are low profile at the moment because of him.

Thanks for that link, it's really fascinating. I didn't know that the "ruby" in the Imperial State Crown is actually the world's largest spinel! The pearls once belonged to Mary, Queen of Scots. So many interesting pieces. I also agree about the matrilineal line, some of those links are interesting.

CPM seems to have been very busy of late. I think this white dress with tan accessories is the nicest thing she's worn in a while. I also really like these photos of CPV in casual wear, and with her hair much less severely scraped back than usual. She looks softer with it like this. Perhaps she'd suit one of Meghan's messy buns, though I can't see that happening!
