Maybe the heat is going to my head but I quite fancy a pair of these lucyandyak.com/products/organic-originals-navy-blue?variant=8179677364327 Size 14 with big boobs, mid 40s. Am I mad?

Dungarees are fine for any age.

Kralia · 23/07/2021 18:18

I love great in my dungarees and I am 45 Grin

Kralia · 23/07/2021 18:19

*look

Wineinthegarden · 23/07/2021 18:22

I have several friends with those (all in 40’s) and they look amazing in them! I went cheap at Sainsbury’s which are too short in the body, so have a toddler in a romper suit vibe about them.

Snowdrop30 · 23/07/2021 18:25

Ok so - yay? Any tips for styling them, so I don't look like CoCo the overweight clown?

I love love love dungarees! So comfy. I am 47 and have several pairs - one denim pair from fat face and a couple of cotton ones from monki. I am not sure that I look particularly stylish in them but I don’t care. Those Lucy and yak ones looks great go for it

Tig33 · 23/07/2021 18:28

In terms of styling (not an expert) I think that bare ankles helps so wearing flat sandals and keeping other stuff simple so plainish simple t shirt underneath and minimum jewellery

RampantIvy · 23/07/2021 18:30

DD has these. They are fine for women who aren't very tall. She has a 34" inside leg measurement, and they are too short for her now after several washes.

Snowdrop30 · 23/07/2021 18:36

Thanks for the encouragement, folks. I want comfy these days, but am just so bored with the same worn out, poorly fitting jeans. I want a change!

The Monki ones look nice too. Full marks to Lucy and Yak for body positivity tho!

I like them.... but I do have rather questionable taste (I have a dungaree dress).

TheYearOfSmallThings · 23/07/2021 18:42

Where I live (Walthamstow) those exact dungarees are the uniform for mums who ate in their 40s and have small children. Literally, I think you are the exact target market for this product.

FourTurnings · 23/07/2021 18:45

I love wearing my Toast dungarees with lace high necked blouses, sweaters or tee shirts. I’m 52 and it shouldn’t work but it somehow does 😀

AuntMasha · 23/07/2021 18:49

Dungarees look great on over 40s, so it’s a Yay from me.

Snowdrop30 · 23/07/2021 18:51

DH is making scoffing noises and cracks about Mr Tumble....

notacooldad · 23/07/2021 18:52

I'm going against the grain and say I hate them!
Great if you are decorating but otherwise not very practical.

Tig33 · 23/07/2021 18:52

Mr Tumble - not really the look you are going for. Just avoid a spotty bag and too many primary colours and you will be grand

KirstenBlest · 23/07/2021 18:53

Wear what you like. I wear dungarees and pinafores and jumpsuits and am over 40.

The originals might be a bit warm this time of year.

Look at the sizing guide and the dungarees guide when you order as the styles vary in cut.

TheYearOfSmallThings · 23/07/2021 18:53

Nonsense (unless you are going for polka dot)

KirstenBlest · 23/07/2021 18:55

They are very practical. Big pockets, you just slip the straps down when you go to the loo. You only have to think about what to wear under them and on your feet. Loose and breezy in hot weather. Fun.
Bipbopbee · 23/07/2021 18:59

Absolutely! Love them Smile

Kanaloa · 23/07/2021 19:04

I don’t like them personally but I don’t think they’re age restricted. Anyone could wear them if they wanted. I would wear with a plain t-shirt and plain shoes so it wasn’t too bright/clashing.

Snowdrop30 · 23/07/2021 19:04

DH is now laughing at the polka dot jokes and promises to abide by the collective wisdom of Mumsnet... (We have been married a long time)

I think dungarees look terrible on all adults, but then I’m not down with the long midi dress and white trainer look either.

StopCryingYourHeartOut · 23/07/2021 19:10

It's a firm nay for me. Always think women look a bit daft in them. Don't like dungaree dresses either.
