White trainers for work/smart casual

Levithecat · 22/07/2021 22:40

Can anyone recommend any brands? I went into the office this week and the vibe was far more casual. I only really wear dresses so I’d like some white trainers that are smart but not too delicate. Looked at ‘veja’ and like those but would like to look at some others

Veja are nice
What about
superga
Victoria trainers

MoltonSilver · 23/07/2021 07:50

Veja are surprisingly uncomfortable. I can't understand why they're so popular.

Snoopsnoggysnog · 23/07/2021 10:12

I’ve got superga for this purpose. I think they look smart but you have to keep them white!

Snowdrop30 · 23/07/2021 10:44

How does anyone keep white trainers white? Mystified. I'm thinking grass, mud, sand....

Redact · 23/07/2021 10:48

I would recommend Veja they look really nice and are very comfortable. However, I do think the comfort of Veja must depend on the shape of your feet as people seem to find them either very comfortable or uncomfortable.

FatPatsCat · 23/07/2021 10:54

Stan Smiths are my go-to

Pink stuff paste on white leather trainers works a treat. I do mine and they come up looking like new
MissMissTorrance · 23/07/2021 12:12

Lacoste Lerond.

Not keen on Stan Smiths as the toes just look too round imo.

Love the look of Superga but they are very heavy.

Why is everyone wearing pretty dresses with big white trainers. It is just so ugly especially with big feet. I do not understand this trend.

EspressoDoubleShot · 23/07/2021 20:12

So don’t wear trainers then, leave it to big foot clomped

Classica · 23/07/2021 20:15

I like these Nike Daybreaks

Well I for one think it looks great. I am really enjoying wearing this trend.

I have trainers for grass and mud and another pair for work type situations. In the same way that I wouldn't have worn my work heels in mud and grass.

Because women are fed up of being restricted and uncomfortable for the sake of a societal norm that says dresses need to be worn with impractical shoes?
Surf100 · 23/07/2021 23:09

love my Veja's

ichundich · 23/07/2021 23:14

I agree in theory but a lot of women are wearing dresses with white trainers currently not because they are liberated but because they feel the "need" to stay on trend. I stick to ballet flats and sandals because those are comfortable (possibly more so than leather trainers on a hot day).

No one's wearing trainers and dresses to be on trend Grin It's old hat now.
Snoopsnoggysnog · 23/07/2021 23:45

My Supergas are canvas not leather so they are fine on a warm day.

Oh I see. You wearing ballet flats is an active choice. You’re above trends.Obviously. However,Others wearing trainers is need to slavishly stay on trend.ohh I see Btw,veja, superga, offer canvas options too. Trainers aren’t necessarily leather there a multiple choices. Many buyers want and seek out canvas in preference to leather So, Wear what you want, but don’t distract yourself with someone else motives for their attire. You clearly don’t have a good track record at understanding other people clothing choices

I like these from Russell and Bromley. www.russellandbromley.co.uk/park-up/105063

Emmelina · 24/07/2021 00:32

Have you looked at Skechers?
They have the BOB label. These seem versatile. I’ve had others from the name and they’re very comfortable.

I don't have white trainers but I have a pair of white suede shoes. Suffice to say I've only worn them a couple of times due to weather.

Although I put DH's filthy white canvas/suede trainers through the wash and left them to dry in the sun - pristine!

goose1964 · 24/07/2021 12:26

I had a pair of the retro looking Reebok classics in gold, different from the ubiquitous white,.I had lots of compliments when I wore them. They also do them in white.

Sosoflo · 24/07/2021 12:57

Vejas never look right on me for some reason, even though I really like the look of them. I do love the Sezane ones though, and I’ve bought a few pairs.

TigerTulip · 24/07/2021 13:14

The Alexander McQueen ones with the coloured bit at the back are gorgeous. My 52 yr old mate absolutely rocks hers. But £420.
Quite a few pairs on vinted though.
