White trainers for work/smart casual

Levithecat · 22/07/2021 22:40

Can anyone recommend any brands? I went into the office this week and the vibe was far more casual. I only really wear dresses so I’d like some white trainers that are smart but not too delicate. Looked at ‘veja’ and like those but would like to look at some others

I hope the trend of wearing trainers with everything NEVER ends. I don’t know what took so long for it to gather momentum to realise trainers are so comfortable and if worn well, can be worn with almost anything. I know it will end though sadly, but I’ll enjoy it while lasts.

EspressoDoubleShot · 24/07/2021 14:08

Trainers and dresses I think it’s a perennial now

Herecomesthesun70 · 24/07/2021 14:57

Nike Blazers
Converse are timeless
I don't think big chunky trainers look nice though

CrouchEndTiger12 · 24/07/2021 14:59

@Shehasadiamondinthesky

Why is everyone wearing pretty dresses with big white trainers. It is just so ugly especially with big feet. I do not understand this trend.
Comfortable? On your feet all day?

No one cares what others think tbh.

CrouchEndTiger12 · 24/07/2021 15:02

I have these.

Stan Smith Wimbledon

They come with 2 pairs of laces one with strawberries 🍓

minipie · 24/07/2021 15:02

Vans leather slip ons maybe

Look a bit smarter than trainers with laces, IMO

anonymouse · 24/07/2021 15:27

Toms Alex leather trainers. You have to wear them like with all Toms but once you have they are so comfortable.

anonymouse · 24/07/2021 15:28

That should be wear them in*

Londontown12 · 24/07/2021 16:09

I usually wear the white veja v10’s
But I think the uglier clumpy trainers are more in now so I’m currently wearing the Adidas ozweegas in white best trainers ever like walking on clouds ☁️!!! X

I have really skinny ankles but love my Adidas Shell toes (Superstars). I don't think they look too clunky on my "dainty" feet.Grin

Pigtailsandall · 24/07/2021 16:15

I bought off-white leather trainers from the Reiss sale last year. Dont know if they still have them but I love them - and I like that they are more creamy, foamy white than bright pure white

Gilbot · 24/07/2021 16:18

Agree Converse are timeless and I see them on all age groups.

Nothing against Veja but round here only 40+ yummy mummies wear them, I’ve never seen them on anyone young & cool (if that bothers you…)

ForeverInADay · 24/07/2021 18:46

I REALLY want some white trainers/canvas type shoes. I've ordered and returned 8 pairs...so far!

I really want some that aren't too chunky and look ok coming out of legs that aren't hugely skinny! I'll be watching this thread (and googling all suggestions!)

HelloMissus · 24/07/2021 20:32

Stan Smiths.

Love these for summer and have just ordered a pair, thanks!

I have these and I love them. I know they're an old lady brand but I like the look & can wear them all day. I picked them cos they do half sizes and all the fashion brands looked too big on my feet. Also like the zip cos I'm lazy and resent tying laces! They're leather so you can wash the laces, give the shoes a good rub with a microfiber cloth and they're good as new

desertcoffeeyoga · 25/07/2021 10:03

I have been trying to decide but on DD's suggestion went for Stan Smith's...must say they are amazing ...and where them with everything. Noticed Martha Hancock also sporting a pair as she valiantly negotiated the dog and paparazzi ..
very pleased with my purchase

HalzTangz · 25/07/2021 10:21

@Snowdrop30

How does anyone keep white trainers white? Mystified. I'm thinking grass, mud, sand....
I use a toothpaste and pink stuff oxi spray. Spray the show, scrub with toothbrush, leave ten mins the wash. Always comes out a bright white

The answer is because they can.

I think dresses look ok with plimsoll style white shoes, but I agree an actual trainer style I don't think it is a good look

What are you wearing?
Palavah · 25/07/2021 10:27

@ichundich

I agree in theory but a lot of women are wearing dresses with white trainers currently not because they are liberated but because they feel the "need" to stay on trend. I stick to ballet flats and sandals because those are comfortable (possibly more so than leather trainers on a hot day).
Ballet flats are bad for your feet. No support, too flat.
Snoopsnoggysnog · 25/07/2021 10:31

Agree I think the plimsoll type style looks great, the big chunky ones less so

Pinkypie86 · 25/07/2021 10:36

Whistles
Reiss
Gola - I bought some recently and I'm in love.
Adidas Ozweegos
Nike Air 200s - they come in so many nice colours.
Supergas are so comfortable especially the Sport S type.
I have some Victoria ones - very nice too.
Veja , don't own any yet - unsure if I will.
Adidas Stan Smiths - my go to.
I really like Adidas Continentals too.

I have an issue with trainers. Shock
