Thought's on these shoes

I'm going to a wedding at the beginning of August. I have found the dress I will be wearing but am finding it harder finding the right shoes. I'm quite tall (5'10) so I rarely wear heals but I've seen these and thought they are quite nice and the heal isn't too high. I like that they look quite "vintage".

What are your thoughts?

I think the dress looks pretty and delicate, so I think it needs a matching shoe - I love these from ASOS, get good reviews, not too high, go with anything colour, will stay on your foot and £23!!!!

There are very similar dupes in New Look for around £30 and I'm sure other stores will do them at varying price points.

Bonus is you can wear them again as a neutral colour.

I'd normally say a strap sandal with that dress but as it's at St Paul's, closed toe is probably more appropriate. Also this style looks quite comfy. Or as comfy as you're going to get for a wedding.

I'm 5ft 10 aswell op and I hate wearing heels. I was also picked on for my height and still to this day at 31, people still comment on my height!

I think they are a bit twee. Mary Janes are.

I would go for something like this with that dress. The colour is just right for tan sandals and u think tan sandals with a wooden sole and heels look great.

Hey OP I would usually say a lovely nude or matt gold sandal for an event with that dress, but a peep toe or covered shoe maybe best for a cathedral. Interestingly, some of the Joe Brown's ones a PP posted are really lovely. I'd never have thought of there.

Love the office sandals- might just buy those for myself!

I was really shocked people thought the OP was in the picture as I've seen that model on SilkFred a million times and recognised her straight away. Now I've looked back though I can understand as it's just a selfie in a mirror with no branding

You need nude heeled sandals or pointy courts with that dress. They will look lovely I'm 5'11 and will wear up to 3 and a half inch heels - as long as you hold yourself up straight and DO NOT SLOUCH you will look great.

OP I have to have a word about this heel thing. I am 5 10 and have always worn heels if I wanted to.. Fine if you don't like them but don't reject shoes you like because you think you will be too tall. Own it!

I went to a church wedding at the weekend in the platform DM sandals and a Scamp and Dude dress. Everyone loved the sandals, got so many compliments.

Also, should add that I’m 6ft, and don’t give a shit how tall I look in heels or platforms or whatever. I am tall, everyone just needs to deal with it.

Just want to say thank you to all the lovely women that have taken the time to find alternatives, it's so appreciated. Also, the height thing, I know I should just think "fuck it" and just wear what I want but it is hard, especially because I struggle with my self esteem and I do lack confidence ~ it's something I have been working on though.
