Thought's on these shoes

I'm going to a wedding at the beginning of August. I have found the dress I will be wearing but am finding it harder finding the right shoes. I'm quite tall (5'10) so I rarely wear heals but I've seen these and thought they are quite nice and the heal isn't too high. I like that they look quite "vintage".

What are your thoughts?

I will attach a pic of the dress and shoes

Similar vibe but lower heel

Any good OP?

ApolloandDaphne · 21/07/2021 12:26

@LazyMareofEastown

They're horrendous. So clumpy and old-fashioned and black leather maryjanes for a summer wedding is just plain wrong.

Something like these would be infinitely nicer, not too high and the right kind of retro/vintage vibe with that dress.

Both my DDs have sandals just like those and DD1 has worn them to weddings in the past few years. Both say they are very comfortable.

I was referring to the image in that quote!

LazyMareofEastown · 21/07/2021 12:29

These are nice if you're a 6 or an 8!.

LazyMareofEastown · 21/07/2021 12:31

Cute and a bargain

Bellyups · 21/07/2021 12:34

Not liking the shoes, sorry

bookish83 · 21/07/2021 12:34

Definitely fine for a wedding! Though I have never heard of them not being.

The one I went to recently people had quite casual shoes on and honestly if you could pull it off id go for DM sandals Smile or low chunky block heels

I really like DM sandals.

The wedding is at St Paul's Catherdral, it won't be too casual?

Sorry but those asos things are dreadful too. Just far too chunky for that delicate dress! I assume you aren't into finer, straps, smaller heels?

Iwantcauliflowercheese · 21/07/2021 12:39

I'm wearing DM sandals to a wedding. They look fab with a dress.

No I don't really wear heels, I like chunky boots.

The shoes are lovely just not in black.

Cocolapew · 21/07/2021 12:44

I like the yellow and blue.

What colour? People have really put me off wearing black shoes

If you love the Mary Jane style go for the nude. Be you, be comfortable there's no need to conform to other's expectations. Be authentic and have a lovely time!

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 21/07/2021 15:39

Nude or better still some pretty sandals

Orf1abc · 21/07/2021 15:43

The shoes are more Hotter than vintage. And the ASOS ones are hilarious, sorry.

Sandals are absolutely fine for a wedding, just not comical ones. Ditch the hat too, you're not going on holiday.

When did I say I was wearing the hat? The Model just happens to be wearing one

I've bought these two so I have a choice. I will just see how they look with the dress and If I'm not keen I can always send them back

I think flats will look better than the wrong heel.

OP- where exactly did you say that the photo A) was of a model and not yourself? B) That you weren't wearing the hat???

I asked up thread IF you were wearing the hat, and you'd didn't reply. Sorry, but we aren't mind readers.

Why would I put a picture of myself on an anonymous site?
